Turkish Dictator Erdogan Reportedly Calls for Arrest of NBA Player Critical of Regime
Colin Kaepernick should be down on his knees thanking God that he lives in America.
In the USA, he is allowed to protest his government and only has to worry about not getting another NFL gig and that is largely his own fault.
Such is not the case for Enes Kanter who could wind up dead for his political views.
The Turkish center for the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder finds himself in extreme peril over his criticism of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

During a recent charity tour, Kanter had his passport revoked while in Romania and now there are reports that the Erdogan regime has issued a warrant for his arrest.
According to AFP via Yahoo News “Turkey seeks arrest of NBA star Kanter – report”:
Turkey issued an arrest warrant on Friday for Turkish NBA star Enes Kanter, accusing him of being a member of a “terror group”, a pro-government newspaper reported.
A judge issued the arrest warrant after an Istanbul prosecutor opened an investigation into Kanter’s alleged “membership of an armed terrorist organisation”, Sabah daily reported.
Kanter, 25, a centre for Oklahoma City Thunder, previously backed Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen in Twitter postings after an attempted putsch last July aimed at ousting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Turkey accuses US-based Gulen of ordering the failed coup and refers to the movement as the “Fethullah Terrorist Organisation” (FETO). Gulen denies the claims.
The arrest warrant refers to Kanter’s alleged use of an encrypted messaging application called Bylock, Sabah said, which Turkey claims was especially created for Gulen supporters.
It also referred to Kanter’s “praise for a terror organisation” in messages via his social media accounts, the daily reported.
The Swiss-born star hit back at the Sabah story on Twitter, sharing a screenshot of the article, adding: “You cannot catch me. Hahaha. Don’t waste your energy.
“I am already going to come to (Turkey) to spit on all of your ugly, hate-filled faces.”
Turkish President Erdogan is a brazen goon who only weeks ago watched as his thugs beat up protesters outside of the White House where he visited with President Donald Trump.
Erdogan would like nothing better than to make an example of a high-profile Turk to send a message to dissenters and Kanter would fit the bill perfectly.
Kanter made it back to the United States and it would be good advice for him to stay here or risk being abducted by Erdogan’s security forces, flown overseas and tortured and murdered by the Turkish dictator after a public show trial.
This should serve as an example to multi-millionaire prima donnas who incorrectly believe that they live in an oppressive nation.
