Hebdo to Print New Issue Featuring Mohammed Cartoons
The first post-attack issue of the French satirical newspaper, Charlie Hebdo, will prominently feature cartoons including the Prophet Mohammed on Wednesday.
After having been brutally attacked by Muslim Fundamentalists, the paper will print three million copies of this week’s issue. Normal circulation is 60,000 copies.
In defiance of the attempt to silence free speech Hebdo’s surviving staff is releasing an 8-page issue and drastically increasing printing citing a huge increase in demand from inside France and abroad.
Hebdo’s home facility is still declared a crime scene forcing the staff to work from offered facilities and equipment from other French papers.
The issue’s front page is expected to feature a caricature of Mohammed holding a “Je Suis Charlie” sign and headlined by the phrase “All is Forgiven.”
