Explosions at Boston Marathon

News reports tell of two blasts near the finish line of the Boston Marathon that have killed at least three people and injured dozens more.

Eye witnesses talk of victims with missing limbs and body parts strewn around the scene of what is reported to have been at least two explosions that fired in quick succession.

The Boston Globe tweeted that dozens of injuries resulted, some dismembered and other outlets are now reporting the death toll from the explosions to be at three.

Buildings around the finish line have been evacuated and bomb-sniffing dogs have been brought in to work the scene of the blasts.

The explosions occurred just before 3pm which was about 3 hours after the first runners had crossed the finish line.
