Commerce Secretary Leaves Obama Administration

The White House reported today that Commerce Secretary John Bryson resigned from the Obama administration on Wednesday.

Bryson had been on medical leave ever since June 11th following a bizarre series of crashes earlier this month that were blamed on a mysterious and sudden onset of seizures.

Accepting Bryson’s resignation letter, the President said, ““I want to extend my deepest thanks and appreciation to John for his service over the past months, and wish him and his family the very best.”

Deputy Secretary Rebecca Blank will be serving as acting Commerce Secretary. This is the second time Deputy Secretary Blank has had to act as Secretary during the current Administration.
