Parents and Children
Parents should be held responsible and accountable for how they raise their kids. Moms and Dads may decide to raise their kids in the ways that God wants to raise them in or parents can choose to raise their kids in the ways the world wants to raise them.
I encourage parents to choose to raise their kids in the ways that God wants to raise them in and not the ways the world wants to raise them in.
On my refrigerator there is a one-page poster (child-rearing anthem) that is titled Children Learn What They Live by Dorothy Nolte. Here is what it says below.
CHILDREN LEARN WHAT THEY LIVE
If a child lives with criticism, He learns to condemn.
If a child lives with hostility, He learns to fight.
If a child lives with ridicule, He learns to be shy.
If a child lives with shame, He learns to feel guilty.
If a child lives with tolerance, He learns to be patient.
If a child lives with encouragement, He learns confidence.
If a child lives with praise, He learns to appreciate.
If a child lives with fairness, He learns justice.
If a child lives with security, He learns to have faith.
If a child lives with approval, He learns to like himself.
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship, He learns to find love in the world.
Dorothy Law Nolte also wrote a book called Teenagers Learn What They Live. Here is a website that contains the chapter titles in the book. https://principal.ccsc.edu.hk/parents/teens/teenagers.html
