Amtrack’s California Zephyr Derailed

Amtrack's California Zephyr

Amtrack’s California Zephyr derailed on Friday after striking an “agricultural vehicle” at a crossing. The train was carrying about 175 passengers of which a small number have been taken to a local hospital.

The train derailed about 8am near Max, Nebraska near the borders of Kansas and Colorado. Both locomotives and 3 of the 10 passenger cars are no longer on the tracks.
