Bin Laden was killed about one week ago by U.S. special forces, but U.S. authorities delayed informing the public of this fact so that they could conduct DNA tests to confirm Bin Laden’s identity.
Major news organizations such as Fox News and the New York Times broke the news prior to Obama’s press conference, taking some of the luster off of the President’s announcement. The United States is reportedly in possession of Bin Laden’s body.
The Conservative Daily News has confirmed reports from the Pensacola Naval Air Station that guards at that base are now dressed in full combat gear and that the base is under an increased state of alert. It is presumed that similar alert measures are taking place at all U.S. military bases around the world.
