Engaging the Enemy

Be afraid, liberals – be very afraid. Remember, as that old saying goes…just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean the Tea Party isn’t out to get you!

Every 24-hour news cycle brings forth new revelations that the conservative tsunami is rolling across the midterm ocean, gathering strength as it nears a landing on November 2nd.  As recently as Saturday, October 16th Barack Obama himself acknowledged the power of the waves. “There is no doubt that this is a difficult election,” said Obama. “That’s because we’ve been through an incredibly difficult time as a nation.”

Get a clue, Obama, you ain’t seen nothing yet!

Bachman Turner Overdrive

For all their rhetoric to the contrary, the truth is that the Tea Party waves are swamping the Democrats, forcing the Donkeys to race for higher ground, littering the campaign trail with their overwhelmed losers. The DCCC (Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee) by latest count has pulled the financing plug on at least two dozen incumbent Democrats in the House of Representatives. The list of the abandoned reads like a tabloid story foretelling the demise of the once Mighty:

  • Chad Causey [D, Arkansas District 1]
  • Ann Kirkpatrick [D, Arizona District 1]
  • Harry E. Mitchell [Arizona District 5]
  • Gabrielle Giffords [D, Arizona District 8]
  • Betsy Markey [D, Colorado District 4]
  • Suzanne Kosmas [D, Florida District 24]
  • Deborah Halvorson [D, Illinois District 11]
  • Bill Foster [D, Illinois District 14]
  • Chris Van Hollen [D, Maryland District 8]
  • Baron Hill [Indiana, District 9]
  • Dennis Moore [D, Kansas District 3]
  • Earl Pomeroy [D, North Dakota District 1]
  • Harry Teague [D, New Mexico District 2]
  • Dina Titus [D, Nevada District 3]
  • Steve Driehaus [D, Ohio District 1]
  • Mary Jo Kilroy [D, Ohio District 15]
  • Zachary T. Space [D, Ohio District 18]
  • Kurt Schrader [D, Oregon District 5]
  • Kathleen Dahlkemper [D, Pennsylvania District 3]
  • Chris Carney (D, Pennsylvania District 10]
  • Paul E. Kanjorski (D, Pennsylvania District 11]
  • Roy Herron (D, Florida District 8]
  • Chet Edwards (D, Texas District 17]
  • Steve Kagen (D, Wisconsin District 8]

For all the ignominious disgrace of being branded one of the Dirty Two Dozen by their own party leadership, it doesn’t appear they will have to feel all alone for much longer. Each passing day more pressure is being put on the still breathing Democratic Congress Critters by conservative sharks such as Dick Morris and his SuperPacUSA.

Dick Morris

Smelling blood in the water, Dick Morris is forecasting as many as 100 congressional seats will be lost by the Democrats. His SuperPacUSA, www.SuperPacUSA.com , is expanding the funding fight even as the Democrats are retrenching in a desperate attempt to stop the bloodletting. Morris calls his effort “Project 100”.  In a recent message to his supporters, Morris said:

“We are going to select the 50 races we believe are “second-tier” races, ones that are not in the priority list for the national committees. Ones the Democrats thought were “safe seats.” With a relatively small amount of money spent by Super PAC in these districts we could win an additional 50 seats, giving Republicans 100 new seats for this Congress! – Dick Morris

Given the carnage currently occurring among congressional Democrats it appears that Morris is leading a successful charge. And Morris is not alone. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is injecting $75 million in advertising campaigns against congressional Democrats all across the fruited plain. No wonder Obama is lashing out against them! Truth be known, Obama fears the chamber on two levels. First, he sees the effectiveness of the chamber’s ads and can perceive what is happening now in 2010. And, bitterly clinging to his Chicago thug tactics, he fears the Tea Party revolt could sweep him out in 2012. So his inner thug is revealing itself as he attempts to intimidate the Chamber of Commerce and its donors, as well as all other donors to conservative causes. The Supreme Court sure hit Obama with a smashing right hook with its striking down of the major provisions of the McCain-Feingold Act. Now people are free to exercise their First Amendment rights through corporate and non-profit contributions to political causes. It leveled the playing field once exclusively owned by the unions. And Obama and his cronies rue the day the Supreme Court made that ruling. That’s why Obama denigrated the Supreme Court in his last State of the Union speech. Remember that? That’s where we heard the glorious words “You lie!”

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is hardly alone. An organization named Crossroads GPS is reportedly spending $70 million in support of conservative candidates. Obama’s tirade against the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is also aimed at Crossroads GPS and other such conservative groups. Obama is pressuring these corporate entities to hand over their donor rolls even though that is not required by law. The point is how can you intimidate conservative donors if you don’t know who they are? It doesn’t appear that Obama’s tactic is going to work this time. After conservative commentator Glenn Beck expressed his ire at Obama’s thuggish tactics against the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Beck asked his viewers to contribute to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The result was the single largest day of donations ever to hit the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s coffers. Chalk one up for the Tea Party. In a strange way you would think that Obama would celebrate donations to organizations such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. After all, the money transfer is just a redistribution of wealth. Isn’t that what it is all about? Guess not, huh!

Bemoaning the influence of conservative donors, Tim Rutten of the Los Angeles Times declared in an article published on October 16th:

A secondary influence on this election is the novel role of so-called third-party money, much of it secretly contributed to groups unaccountable to either party. By election day, according to a report Friday in the Wall Street Journal, such committees will have spent $300 million in support of GOP candidates. And, unlike the Republican National Committee or congressional sources, these third parties have been perfectly willing to spend on behalf of those with tea party roots. (By contrast, about $100 million in independent contributions will go to Democratic candidates; organized labor will spend an additional $200 million, but the bulk of that is going to rally union voters, whose enthusiasm has waned.) – Tim Rutten

As I researched Rutten’s article I couldn’t help but laugh as the Los Angeles Times, in its capitalistic wisdom, inserted two ads right in the middle of Rutten’s piece. Rutten starts off his diatribe declaring “In this crazy election year, the tea partyers have shown surprising strength. Bu the internal contradictions are so numerous, it’s hard to see how their influence will last.” Then, two paragraphs later, I came across two ADS BY GOOGLE. The first was an ad for a Tea Party U.S. Senate candidate in Colorado, Ken Buck – BuckForColorado.com The other declared, “Vote Libertarian www.vote-libertarian.org . Now, I ask, where was the Democrat ad? Oh, that’s right. They ran out of other people’s money.

First Amendment rights are such a pesky thing. They can’t be controlled by the party in power. According to the Supreme Court, the First Amendment actually means what it says. And Tim Rutten and others of his ilk just can’t come to grips with that fact. How can you ever hope to controls the opinions and emotions of the unwashed masses if they get to spout off at every opportunity? How dare they use Freedom of Speech in such an immoral manner like sponsoring television commercials that point out the warts on the faces of their socialist masters? No wonder Obama believes that the Bill of Rights is nothing but a list of negative rights. By that, he means it is negative for him – though he preaches that it is really negative for the citizens.

The tsunami is threatening the Democratic hold on the Governorships as well as Congress. Just two weeks are left before the midterm elections, and pollsters are predicting that the Republicans are going to win as many as 30 governorships. And it isn’t just winning 30 governorships that are sending the Democrats into frenzy. It’s like real estate – it is all about location, location, location. The newly seated governors have the opportunity to control the reapportionment of congressional seats as a result of the findings of the 2010 census. It is no secret that the new Republican governors will realign those congressional districts to the detriment of Obama and his fellow communists. That is a move that strikes right at the heart of Obama’s quest for a second term. Why? – Because reapportionment of congressional districts also means reapportionment of Electoral College votes. And that’s the Queen Bee. That’s the Golden Goose, the Sword in the Stone.  Reapportioned congressional districts will remain in effect for at least the next 10 years. That can affect both congressional and presidential elections for most of a generation. We are witnessing the literal implosion of the Democratic Party as they scramble to hold the line in the 2010 midterms. They know what is at stake.

In the Senate races the Democrats continue to fund their candidates at some level or another – but here too, the Tea Party has forced the Democrats to reallocate their funds to races once thought safe.

Democrat Election Funds - Flushing Bad Money after Poor Candidates.

Democratic Senator Harry Reid, despite having begun the campaign with a formidable war chest, has seen Sharon Angle out raise him in the funding race. Angle took in an incredible $14 million during the past quarter. At the same time Angle was raking in the cash, Reid was spending out the kazoo in an attempt to knock Angle out of the race early. It didn’t work. Angle is still around and Reid is looking like the loser here, especially after last week’s debate. Consequently, the Democratic Party has been forced to expand cash that is greatly needed elsewhere, to combat Angle. And it appears the Democrats are throwing bad money after good.

This same scenario is repeating itself all across the senate campaigns. The Democrats are playing defense. And the Republicans are on the attack. The GOP is taking advantage of the fact that it can play a strong defense by going on the offense.

And it isn’t all about cash. It is also about substance – of which the Democrats have previous little. Normally, you would expect a political party to trumpet both its legislative victories and its published agenda as campaign talking points. But the Democrats have found (and it’s not like they weren’t warned) that their major legislative victories have become mill stones around their necks. The Democrats can’t run on their legislative victories – it is a losing strategy. And the Democrats can’t run on their agenda – they’ve never announced one. But the voters have become much more sophisticated than in years past. The Democrats don’t have to announce an agenda. The entire country has got the Democratic agenda figured out. It is called socialism, if not just downright communism. And the voters want nothing to do with it. Expect the Democrats to lose a myriad of down ticket races this year as fed up voters vote straight party line tickets. The Congressional, Senate, and Governorship races are getting all the headlines, but the true seismic shift is going to occur at the local level. The Conservative ascendency is going to strike deep into local politics as Democratic county commissioners, city councilmen, mayors, school board members, and even judgeships and sheriffs are affected. It is the lower level races that have an organic effect upon the culture of the nation. And the Democrats are in for some major culture shock.

What is amazing in all of this is that the Democrats are like the proverbial ostrich with its head in the sand. They are in denial. They simply cannot cope with the fact that the electorate is rejecting them. With their ideological blinders still firmly in place they can’t get it through their skulls that the problem is their policies. Instead, the Democrats and their lapdogs, the Main Stream Media, are preaching that the problem is two-fold: 1) the marketing of the liberal message has been mishandled so that the people simply don’t understand them, and 2) the people are incapable of leading themselves and therefore do not recognize that they must be ruled over by elites that can better manage their affairs then they can themselves. It is this ideological super glue that binds the liberals together. It is why we see a virtual plethora of czars to rule our lives. It is why we see federal agencies snipping away at our freedoms through regulatory changes. It is why the incandescent light bulb will be illegal to be sold come 2012. It is why Michelle Obama is laying the groundwork for what we will be allowed to eat. It is why the IRS, effective January 1, 2011, is making it illegal to purchase Tylenol, Gas-X, Preparation H, Aleve, Pepto-Bismol, and a host of other non-prescription drugs with HSA and FSA cards – unless, of course we have a prescription. Talk about a contradiction in terms!

So here we are, two weeks until Election Day. Obama and his minions have tried every trick in their book and yet the Tea Party keeps right on marching on. Patriotism is on the ascendency. We are in the midst of a battle the likes of which this nation has never seen. We aren’t just fighting Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Harry Reid, or even Alvin Greene. They are merely biological expressions of an evil philosophy that seeks to impose slavery upon us. These adherents to this philosophy are called communists, socialists, environmentalists, progressives, liberals, Democrats, and libturds. It doesn’t matter what the labels are. All that is required is that we recognize the enemies among us and join them in battle. We are greater than they. We are more motivated than they. They fight for tyranny. We fight for liberty. We will win for our cause is just.

I leave you with something to cheer your spirits as you march on to victory. Watch it, it will inspire you!

The Battle Hymn of the Republic

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:
His truth is marching on.

(Chorus)

Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on

I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps,
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps:
His day is marching on.

(Chorus)

I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel:
“As ye deal with my condemners, so with you my grace shall deal;

Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel,
Since God is marching on.”

(Chorus)

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat:
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.

God Bless America

(Chorus)

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.

(Chorus)

He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is wisdom to the mighty, He is succor to the brave,
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of Time His slave,
Our God is marching on.

Amen. Let a major victory be won come November 2nd.
