Here’s Dems’ Hidden Agenda Behind Illegal Immigration — And How To Fix It

https://dailycaller.com/

Under Joe Biden, Americans are suffering from the worst border crisis in this nation’s history. Ten-thousand illegal immigrants are pouring into our country every day, and the Biden administration admits to releasing at least 85 percent of them into the United States. This historic flood of illegal immigrants is in addition to an untold number of others who have evaded border patrol agents—illegals that we don’t even know about. That number doesn’t include the more than 12 million illegal immigrants who have been living in the U.S., without consequence, for decades. It is impossible to overstate the magnitude of this crisis. It is like nothing we’ve ever seen before.

Illegal immigrants are not just overrunning our hospitals, our schools, and our social services. They’re even affecting the balance of political power in this country.

Under current law and regulation, the apportionment of congressional seats in Congress among the states is decided based on a population number that includes illegal immigrants.

Yes, that’s right. Illegal immigrants impact how congressional representation is decided, even if they don’t vote and aren’t supposed to be here.

It gets worse. This is a presidential election year and, in this country, the President is elected by the Electoral College. These Electoral College votes are based upon congressional seats, which are affected by the tens of millions of illegal immigrants in this country.

Many people have asked me why liberal cities like Boston and Philadelphia have voted for sanctuary policies. They’ve advertised to the whole world that they want illegal immigrants to live there—these cities won’t even help deport convicted criminals. It makes absolutely no sense—except that it gives them more political power in Congress and in the Electoral College.

You don’t have to take my word for it. Democrat Congresswoman Yvette Clarke of New York—a sanctuary state—admitted, “I need more people in my district just for redistricting purposes.” With Democrats, it’s always about more power.

Democrats like to lecture us about “Our Democracy” (including when flanked by Marines in front of a blood red background), but they’re perfectly fine with people coming from other countries, breaking our laws, and shifting the balance of power in their favor in the Congress. It’s an outrage, and Americans shouldn’t stand for it.

This is not the “equal protection of the law” promised by the Constitution. The votes of Americans are being diluted by people who shouldn’t even be here. Hard earned, taxpayer dollars are being given away to people who should have no right to them. Even U.S. citizenship, or legal immigrant status, has been diluted. This is a very real loss of power by individual voters.

In his first term in office, President Trump tried to fix this problem, but he got tied up in court for years with frivolous lawsuits from blue states like Yvette Clark’s New York.

It’s time to finish the job. That’s why I was proud to join my friend Bill Hagerty, United States Senator for Tennessee, in introducing legislation called the Equal Representation Act. Our bill would put President Trump’s directive into federal law and stop counting illegal immigrants when it comes to determining seats in Congress. We ought to have this bill sitting on President Trump’s desk on his very first day back in office.

This is an election year, and the Democrats have suddenly decided to start telling the American people that they care about the border. But their actions speak a lot louder than their words.

The American people aren’t going to be fooled. They know the Democrats caused this crisis and that they have refused to fix it for three years running. If Democrats actually wanted to fix our border, then they would pass our bill, right away. Instead, media reports show they are demanding more illegal immigration in the border talks.

This should not be a partisan issue. This is about ensuring the equal representation of all U.S. citizens in electing a House of Representatives and a President of the United States. Illegal immigrants should not determine who runs this country. It’s time for Congress to pass this legislation and give the voice back to the United States citizen.
