“He’s been lying for years,” said former New York City Mayor and President Donald Trump Attorney Rudy Guliani on Thursday when commenting on disgraced lawyer Michael Cohen.
Appearing on CNN’s Cuomo Prime Time, Giuliani responded to reports Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, claims that then-candidate Trump knew in advance about the June 2016 meeting in Trump Tower in which Russians were expected to offer his campaign dirt on Hillary Clinton.
Gulianai said, “I’ve expected something like this from Cohen, he’s been lying all week –or two– he’s been lying for years. The tapes that we have demonstrate any number of serious lies by him back a year and a half ago. Including his fooling people, hiding tape recordings, telling them they weren’t recorded, lying to their face, breaking face with them. Taping his client which is a disbarrable offense. I don’t see how he has any credibility.”
Guliani continued, adding, “This is basically if you had a trial there won’t be any trial but if you had a trial you’d say well which lie do you wanna pick? You wanna pick the first lie the second lie or maybe some new lie. There’s nodoby I know that knows him that hasn’t warned me if that he’s back up against a wall he’ll lie like crazy cause he’s lied all his life.”
Does anyone know what ‘other’ clients can do since their records were also taken? Doesn’tthat violate the attorney client privilege?
To violate attorney-client privilege, a lawyer must divulge information given to them by their client in confidence. Having Mueller’s team of brown shirts take the information under warrant is not a violation of that privilege. But, anything taken under that warrant, protected by the attorney-client relationship, would be inadmissible in court, as would any evidence gained because of the taken evidence (fruit of the poisonous tree).
