A former police officer alleged to have kidnapped his daughters was found dead inside a car with a current Baltimore police sergeant late Thursday following a Pennsylvania crime spree, according to authorities.

Robert Vicosa, a former Baltimore County police officer, and Tia Bynum, a sergeant who was suspended from the Baltimore County Police Department (BCPD) Wednesday, were found inside a grey Ford Edge on Wednesday along with Vicosa’s two daughters, Aaminah and Gianna, the Maryland State Police announced in a statement. All four occupants of the vehicle were found shot to death in what police believed to be a murder-suicide; Vicosa’s daughters were six and seven years old, respectively.

“There is no motive known at this time for the shooting. Investigators on the scene located an assault rifle and other firearms in the vehicle,” police said in the statement.

Vicosa and Bynum allegedly planned to terrorize Vicosa’s ex-wife before taking the two girls and proceeding to embark on a four-day crime spree across state lines, WJZ reported.

The couple reportedly sedated Vicosa’s ex-wife, tied her up and abandoned her in her home for several hours, citing court documents. The pair then hijacked a vehicle on Wednesday and kidnapped another man, forcing him to drive them to various locations before eventually releasing him unharmed, WBAL reported.

Vicosa and Bynum both received previous disciplinary actions from the BCPD during their time as officers, according to WBAL.
