Elizabeth Warren Immediately Fundraises Off Of Dissing Fox News

Less than an hour after Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren publicly rejected a town hall invitation from Fox New, Warren was using her diss of the news network to pump her supporters for donations.

Warren’s Fox News boycott was designed to limit the network’s credibility with advertisers, she told supporters in a fundraising email.

Warren asked supporters to donate to her campaign “instead of helping Fox News turn a fatter profit.”

The fundraising pitch also took a veiled shot at other Democratic candidates — such as Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders — who have appeared on the network, though she didn’t criticized her opponents by name.

Part of a fundraising email the Warren campaign sent out immediately after blowing off Fox News

“I won’t ask millions of Democratic primary voters to tune in to an outlet that profits from racism and hate in order to see our candidates — especially when Fox will make even more money adding our valuable audience to their ratings numbers,” she wrote.

Warren, a second-term senator from Massachusetts, is currently third in RealClearPolitics’ polling average, trailing former Vice President Joe Biden and Sanders.

Warren’s Fox News boycott echoes rhetoric from left-wing activist groups like Media Matters, who have sought to weaponize advertisers against the network’s more successful conservative hosts.

Media Matters president Angelo Carusone cheered on Warren’s call to boycott Fox News. “THANK YOU SENATOR WARREN!” he wrote on Twitter.

Left-wing activist group Sleeping Giants also promoted Warren’s attack on Fox.
