Schiff Rejects GOP Request For Whistleblower To Testify In Impeachment Proceedings

Rep. Adam Schiff rejected House Republicans’ request on Saturday to call the Trump whistleblower to testify publicly in the impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump, calling the testimony “redundant and unnecessary.”

Rep. Devin Nunes, the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, listed the whistleblower, who is reported to be a CIA analyst, along with seven other potential witnesses that Republicans want to have testify publicly in the impeachment proceedings.

Along with the whistleblower, Nunes listed Hunter Biden and his business partner, Devon Archer, along with former Fusion GPS contractor Nellie Ohr and former DNC operative Alexandra Chalupa.

Schiff shot down calling the whistleblower to testify, asserting that many of the allegations in his Aug. 12 complaint “not only confirms, but far exceeds, the initial information in the whistleblower’s complaint.”

“The whistleblower’s testimony is therefore redundant and unnecessary. In light of the President’s threats, the individual’s appearance before us would only place their personal safety at grave risk,” said Schiff.

That is a reversal for the Democrat, who chairs the House Intelligence Committee and is leading the impeachment investigation for Democrats.

Before the whistleblower’s complaint was released on Sept. 26, Schiff said that Congress would want to hear from the whistleblower. But he changed his tune on the matter after it was revealed that the whistleblower had contact with one of Schiff’s aides prior to filing the complaint. Schiff failed to disclose in numerous interviews leading up to the release of the complaint that his aide had contact with the whistleblower.

Nunes formally called on Schiff to testify in a deposition about his office’s contact with the whistleblower on Friday.

In denying the GOP request to hear from the whistleblower, Schiff said that the impeachment investigation “will not serve as vehicles for any Member to carry out the same sham investigations into the Bidens or debunked conspiracies about 2016 U.S. election interference that President Trump pressed Ukraine to conduct for his personal political benefit.”

  1. There is no “whistleblower,” so please stop using that word to describe the seditious leaker. He’s not even a leaker, really. He’s just an ad hoc member of the ongoing coup to oust President Trump. This is all planned and choreographed. The cast of characters gets larger and larger as the plot unfolds. Trouble is, the plot itself was horribly written and makes no sense. It was written by pajama boys with absolutely no style.

None of it makes any sense.

First it was “Russia, Russia, Russia” all day every day for 2 years. Then Mueller testified and it became obvious that it was all a sham. Nobody talks about collusion anymore. Now the shiny new object is Ukraine. And off they go, barking “Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine.” And when it’s revealed that the seditious leaker’s own lawyer announced the beginning of the coup in a text message, does the yapping let up, even for a minute? No, of course not. The news media chihuahuas yap even louder, as though increasing the volume makes it more convincing.

Leftism drives you insane. There is no other explanation that makes any sense. When The Beast lost in ’16, Democrats everywhere simultaneously lost whatever remained of their collective sanity.

  2. Since when did a seditious disgruntled employee start being called a whistleblower?
    Take back the language!

Whoever organizes or helps or attempts to organize any society, group, or assembly of persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the overthrow or destruction of any such government by force or violence; or becomes or is a member of, or affiliates with, any such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes thereof—

  4. K. Hoover, you are so very right! This ‘whistleblower’ is like Schiff’s claim of absolute proof of Trump’s Russian involvement….a figment of an over active imagination….Since ‘his’ complaint is second hand information, What I want to know is who gave it to him ???

Do these self empowered ‘planners’ honestly think that the general citizenship is dumb enough to believe this _____ or are they too dumb to know how full of holes it is ???

The Democrat Party of old has been hijacked by the Leftist….No doubt this will enhance and grow the Republican numbers.

In ‘follow the money’ we might want to add this hateful lawyer to the list…always been amazed at how “rich” serving in Congress makes people.

Anyone know how the budget is coming along???
