Report: FBI releases 7,000 documents related to Hillary email case

The FBI released to the State Department 7,000 new documents from Anthony Weiner‘s laptop, but public release of them is still months or perhaps years away.

Judicial Watch is suing the State Department over their Freedom of Information Act request demanding Hillary Clinton emails from her tenure at State. During a hearing Thursday, the existence of the 7,000 new documents was revealed.

The new cache is expected to include emails between Clinton aide Huma Abedin and then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Abedin had forwarded emails from her State department account to her husband Weiner’s personal laptop to print out or back up.

A judge had, in a previous hearing, ordered the State Department to process and release 500 documents per month to Judicial Watch. Based on the 500-page-per-month rate, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton does not expect to receive the Weiner laptop documents in full for more than a year.

“This pushes this out until 2020 and beyond,” Fitton told Fox News after the hearing. “Production is slow because the legal counsel is a holdover from the Obama administration—the folks that are responsible for slow-rolling this are still here.”

Obama holdovers have been a suspected source of leaks, obstruction and perhaps institutional sabotage during the Trump administration’s first six months. Despite the subterfuge, Trump has managed key successes on the economy, the war on ISIS, and border security.

Mainstream media has today generally ignored this story and instead focused on OJ Simpsons’ parole hearing, Trump’s confidence in A.G. Sessions and Mueller’s Russian witch hunt.
