Despite Demanding an Investigation, Kavanaugh’s Accuser Hasn’t Bothered to File a Police Report

Christine Blasey Ford has laid a so-far uncorroborated allegation of sexual misconduct against U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and despite Ford’s demand that there be a law enforcement investigation, she hasn’t bothered to file a police report.

By Ford’s telling, the alleged assault took place at a house party in Montgomery County, Maryland, making county police the appropriate venue for a criminal probe. Thus far, Ford’s attorneys have said federal investigators should handle the accusations.

Sgt. Rebecca Innocenti, a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Police, told The Daily Caller News Foundation the department has not yet received a complaint from Ford relating to her sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh.

Innocenti also said that MoCo police investigate all allegations of criminal conduct they receive.

This failure to notify law enforcement is only the latest in a string of curiosities that call Ford’s allegations into question.

A letter from Ford’s lawyer, Debra Katz, to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley strongly requests that law enforcement investigate her claims.

“A full investigation by law enforcement officials will ensure that the crucial facts and witnesses in this matter are assessed in a non-partisan manner, and that the committee is fully informed before conducting any hearing or making any decisions,” the letter said.

But if a criminal investigation was her client’s wish, why did she send a letter to Congress instead of talking to police? Who even thinks like that? Or is she concerned that she might be charged with filing a false police report if a different truth arises?

Legal ramifications may also be why she suddenly backtracked on the strong desire to testify before Congress, publicly, under oath. Now she won’t even talk to a committee member in a private setting away from Capitol Hill.

Ford’s intransience does her no favors. Her refusal to testify under oath of the charges she hurled at Kavanaugh through the media merely furthers the impression that she is a lying schemer attempting to keep Kavanaugh off the bench at all costs.

She can’t remember where the attack happened, whose house it was, how she got there or how she got home. The only “fact” she seems to be able to recall is Brett Kavanaugh’s name.

To Kavanaugh’s credit, he believes that she was attacked by someone and that Ford is confusing him with that person. Witnesses memories fail all the time, often convicting innocent people because their brains saw something, or someone, that wasn’t there. Maybe Judge Kavanaugh is right, maybe she just transposed him into the attack. But that doesn’t explain the planning that went into her salvo against a man that everyone who has ever known him says is kind and respectful.

• She scrubbed her social media profiles before sending the letter
• She sent it, confidentially, to a Democrat in Congress instead of law enforcement
• She then outed herself as the accuser just days before the vote
• She boasted that she would testify before Congress, under oath, in public – then… didn’t

Ford’s progressive activism gives her even less credibility. Most of this is in the news and are undeniable facts. There are no rumors in that list.

Her lawyer wants law enforcement to investigate Ford’s claims, but didn’t bother to tell her that sexual assault is a local crime and she should file a police report? Although some will pretend, out of political expediency, absolutely no one believes that crap!

Judge Kavanaugh should be voted in as the next Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court and it should happen on Monday, as promised. Otherwise, Republicans will be put on notice: you got punked by Democrats and voters don’t show up to the polls to vote for candidates that are that weak.
