The Democrat’s Continuing Lawfare Only Convicts Them of Impotent Pettiness

Finding no legal impediment to sentencing and recognizing that Presidential immunity will likely attach once Defendant [Donald Trump] takes his Oath of Office, it is incumbent upon this Court to set this matter down for imposition of sentence prior to [inauguration day] January 20, 2025

“Judge” Juan Merchan, Jan. 3, 2025

This is the worst instance of Stalinism in my 60-year career. Stalin was told [by his secret police chief Lavrentiy Beria], ‘Show me the man and I’ll find you the crime.’  So Democratic AG Letitia James and Democratic DA Alvin Bragg tried to find a crime to convict Trump of, but they couldn’t … so they made one up out of whole cloth. … If they can make up a case against Trump, they can make it up against you too. … Now they’re trying to avoid him getting an appeal. One way [to do that is this:] … [NY] Governor [Kathy Hochul] may pardon him.  [If that happens] he still has the stigma of a conviction, and there’s a [legal] question whether he can appeal [once he has] been pardoned.

Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, 1/3/25

[T]he amazing thing about this … actively aggressive … order is that … [Judge Merchan is giving] Trump critics a label [to paste on Trump] … that [Trump is] technically a convicted felon.  That will become the new mantra, the soundbite going into the inauguration that this is history being made, even though the president-elect has had no opportunity to appeal this case, which in my view has layers of reversible error [emphasis added].  … [T]he timing … is notable. [Merchan] schedules [the sentencing] just before the inauguration day …

GWU Law Professor Jonathan Turley, 1/3/25

This case … by a partisan prosecutor … should have never been brought.  It was brought … It’s a kangaroo court.  … [Trump’s never] going to be punished because the only reason they [brought] it was so they could call [Trump] a convicted felon during the [2024] election. The American people soundly rejected this naked partisan politics [in the election].  [Instead of addressing the violence on subways, the NY criminal justice system is] being used [against their political opponent].

                                                CNN Guest Scott Jennings, 1/3/25

I [don’t] think Democrats in positions of power actually believe … [the] hyperbole [they regularly use against Trump, that he is a fascist, Hitler, etc.].    I believe [they] use tactics of fear and division to [get] votes [rather than] implement policies that make the lives of ordinary American’s better.  Democrats have made a deal with the Devil.  … Since their corporate donors want very specific things … in exchange for their donations … [that] do not [benefit] American workers, Democrats tend to lean into tactics of fear or … the culture war.

Former Democrat and current member of The Young Turks, now Independent, Ana Kasparian, 28/11/24

In normal circumstances, a party that [lost an election so dramatically] would be expected to engage in real introspection about what went wrong.  Leadership changes would be expected.  … Not so in this Democratic Party, where long-time leaders are trudging forward as if nothing happened.

Max Burns, The Hill, 12/18/24

Having, as expected, learned nothing (the current Democrat Party’s unique talent) from their recent thrashing in the 11/5/24 election, in which Trump historically won all 7 swing states and the popular vote, Columbian born “judge” Juan Merchan, representing the only remaining plank in the Democrat’s failed Stalinist “lawfare” strategy to eliminate Trump via the legal system, has set Trump’s sentencing for his comical “New York Hush Money “conviction” about a week just before Trump’s inauguration.  What a coincidence in the timing!  One might even get the idea it’s all political!  For, it’s just in time for the remnants of the Democrat Party and their mechanical “news” media mouthpieces to trumpet, at the very beginning of Trump’s new term in office, a new mantra, a new a “soundbite,” that Trump is a convicted felon.  What is actually historic, the mantra will go, about Trump’s massive election victory is not that Trump outsmarted and thrashed what’s left of the Democrat Party and its media poodles.  No, what is actually historic about the election results is that the “deplorables,” the borderline illiterate peasants unworthy of voting in a democratic election, put a convicted felon in the White House.  The “Maga garbage” even deserve to have their candidate jailed because they are unworthy of the privilege of voting.

While trumpeting that comrade Marchan’s plan to sentence Trump shows that no one is above the law (especially laughable after Biden’s pardon of his corrupt son Hunter, and by extension himself, for anything Hunter may have done for almost 11 years), Merchan’s remarks about the sentencing show that he and many Democrats have no actual respect for the law as such but use it instead as another political weapon to get their way that they cannot get through fair democratic processes.

Instead of respecting the voices of the American people in the 2024 elections, who quite clearly stated their verdict on the transparently rigged Democrat Party lawfare waged against Donald Trump, and instead of noticing that the lawfare hasn’t worked anyways but only made Trump stronger, comrade Merchan, whose daughter is working with Democrat Party Trump-hater Adam Schiff (Rep. Calif.), has decided to use his judicial position to give the Democrats and their media poodles a useful “soundbite”—that Trump is a convicted felon.  Since comrade Merchan ruled that the jurors don’t even have to agree what the crime was in order to find his political enemy guilty, what, exactly, was the alleged crime again?

First, Merchan, having, apparently, just blown off the SCOTUS Presidential Immunity Decision, is just wrong that there “no legal impediment to sentencing” Trump.   Alan Dershowitz (5/21/24):  “Many experienced lawyers raised their eyebrows when the judge excluded obviously relevant evidence when offered by the defense, while including irrelevant evidence offered by the prosecution.”  The New Yorker (7/1/24): “The SCOTUS Immunity Ruling is a Victory for Trump … [making] it harder to prosecute any president.” Jonathan Turley (1/3/25):  There are, “in my view is layers of reversible error [emphasis added]” in the guilty verdict.

Second, they are apparently, unconstitutionally, attempting to prevent Trump from getting to appeal the guilty verdict, i.e., Merchan will sentence him but then Democrat NY Governor Kathy Hochul will, making a fanfare about how fair she and the Democrats are, will pardon him, thereby making it nearly impossible for Trump to clear his name in higher less corrupt courts (where the silly conviction will definitely be overturned).

Third, one of the main reasons Democrats lost the 2024 election is the peasants saw through the undemocratic Democrat Party attempts to prevent them from being able to vote for or against whoever they choose.  They understood that they, not just Trump, were being targeted by Democrat lawfare against Trump, i.e., that their constitutionally guarantee choices were being taken away by petty little “men” and women.  By his latest shenanigans, comrade Merchan has signalled that he and his Democrat and news” media supporters will continue to play silly political games rather than doing what they should be doing, trying to solving the problems of the American people.  In doing so, Democrats only continued to convict, not Trump, but themselves of lawless undemocratic behaviour.
