CNN’s Van Jones Illustrates the Problem with the “Insulting” Democrats
We were laughing at them. Knocking on doors in Philadelphia and Detroit. Where’s the Trump people? They’re not knocking on doors. They’re not dropping literature. Ha! Ha! Ha! We were making fun of Donald Trump for throwing away his ground game and doing weird stuff online. We thought they were idiots. It turns out we were idiots. … We got beat because they were building a whole different kind of media system that had to do with online, podcasts [and] streaming systems. … We woke up in a body bag because [of] people [on our side] who told us they knew what they were doing. … All these groups that vacuumed up all this money and told everybody to sit down and shut up are in for a reckoning … and it’s coming.
CNN’s Van Jones, 11/7/24
I’m thinking about the people that are not part of anybody’s elite hurting tonight. African-American women who know about being talked down to … [and] having their economic dreams crushed. They tried to dream a big dream over the past [few] months and tonight they’re turning in a lot of hope for a lot of hurt. They were hoping maybe this time one of their own might be seen as worthy. And once again, they’re facing rejection … That hurts. They thought that they’re … going to be able to … feel like they belong. … It’s easy to [celebrate that] the elites are going to get their comeuppance [but its] not the elites who are going to pay the price. It’s the people who woke up this morning with a dream and are going to bed with a nightmare. [Those] people deserve to be respected, held and talked to.
CNN’s Van Jones, election night, 2024
It’s insulting when members of the working class, which the Democratic Party has lost entirely …, to insist the economy’s doing great [when a 12-pack of Bounty paper towels now costs about $40]. The biggest unforced error of the Biden administration by far was the border. To tell people [it’s secure] is insulting.
Brian Williams, former NBC and MSNBC News anchor, 11/22/24
CNN’s Van Jones, like many Democrats, is having trouble dealing with the results of Trump’s election victory. He seems clearer about some of the “mechanics” of what went wrong for the Democrats. Unlike many Democrats, who like to think they are much smarter they are than stupid Donald Trump, Van Jones realizes that Trump outsmarted them again just like he did in 2016. Whereas the 2024 Democrats stayed with the traditional tactics, spending lots of money, knocking on doors, leaving flyers around, etc., Trump was creating “a whole new kind of media system” that could reach far more people far more effectively. That is, while the Democrats were stuck in the past, Trump was again thinking outside the box about how to defeat the entire legacy media arrayed against him.
Understanding the ineffective mechanics behind the Democrat’s losses is, however, the easy part. For, Van Jones still fails to understand the much deeper problem the Democrat message. His victimhood statement on election night about all the people whose dreams have been shattered because of Trump’s victory betrays an enormous lacuna in his thinking. He made a very similar victimhood “whitelash” statement after Trump’s election in 2016. The present point is not that these people’s feelings do not count. No one should gloat over their pain. Of course, they need to be listened to. But whenever any Party loses an election there are going to be people that will feel hurt and terrified. Van Jones shows no understanding of that fact that had Harris won there would be people who would be afraid their daughter might be the next little girl murdered by a Biden-Harris illegal alien, the next woman paralyzed by a biological male who spiked a volleyball into her face at double the velocity normal for biological women, or afraid that their local park is no longer safe for children because of the needles discarded from the large Biden-Harris homeless camp across the street, etc. Why is only half the country allowed to fear their dreams have died because of the results of an election? Van Jones seems to think that only one side has legitimate fears?
Part of the answer is that Democrats appear to have forgotten that the government is supposed to serve the people, not the people supposed to serve the government. This is illustrated by an exchange between Harris and Bret Bair in the one serious interview she granted to the peasants (who actually believe they have to right to see her answer tough questions). Bair asks:
“Jocelyn Nungaray, Rachel Morin, Laken Riley are young women brutally assaulted and killed by some of the men who were released at the beginning of the [Biden-Harris] administration, well before [that] negotiated bipartisan bill. Former President Clinton [admitted that] if those men had been properly vetted, Laken Riley would probably [be alive]. … This is a specific policy decision by your administration to release these men into the country. … Do you owe those families an apology?“
Harris responded, “I can’t imagine the pain [those] families have experienced. [But it’s] also true that if a border security [bill] had been passed 9 months ago it would be 9 months that we would have had more [border] agents … working around the clock trying to hold it all together.“
However, Bair did not ask Kamala for a self-serving political statement about the recent border bill (bipartisan rejected by almost all Republicans and 5 Democrats). He asked her about women and little girls murdered by illegal aliens (the correct legal term) that Biden-Harris let into the country. Her diversion to the border bill instead is an “insulting” dodge. And it’s not difficult to understand why she doesn’t want to answer. Over the past 4 years Democrats have repeatedly lied about the border giving the distinct impression that they could care less about the damage to the American people as a result of their selfish political agenda. It appears the “Party of compassion” has degenerated into a heartless Party determined to achieve power at any cost, including the bodies of women and little girls.
If some Democrats are “terrified” by a Trump presidency, it is not because of Trump per se but of shameless partisan demagogues who constantly feed them transparently false propaganda about Trump being a fascist or a Nazi or trying to convince them that a rejection of Harris is a rejection of black women. On the contrary, elections are about policies, not persons. It was only a rejection of one particularly bad candidate.
Harris lost because of her massive obvious inauthenticity, the same inauthenticity that enabled the entire Democrat Party and their media shills to lie to the American people for years that Biden was as sharp as tack. Their absurd Stalinist lawfare against Trump is just another dimension of the Democrats cruel demonic lust for power.
The Democrats will not solve their electoral problems by fixing the mechanics of their campaigns. The real problem with the Democrats, illustrated both by Van Jones’ and by Harris’ blindness to the pain of families whose daughters have been murdered by illegals that Biden-Harris deliberately let into the country, is a problem with their souls.
