NFL Sunday Night Ratings Tank Again After Week Two of Anti-Trump Protests

While the NFL protests against President Trump continued – albeit diminishing in number – this week, it is still looking like thanks to the botched handling of the situation has caused long-lasting if not permanent damage.

The ratings are in for Sunday night’s prime-time game and the trend continues to signal that people are as mad as hell and are not going to take it anymore. Ticket sales have plunged, longtime fans have taken to having jersey burning parties and the league is still refusing to outright ban the protests.

You have to hand it to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, in a career of scandals and screw-ups, he sure has painted his masterpiece with the dumpster fire that began cooking down as soon as he threw in with the scumbags and declared war on mainstream America.

It probably has yet to occur to Goodell and others that the majority of football fans aren’t sissy coastal liberals who found the game too violent to watch before the emergence of their messiah Kaepernick. Rather, they are loyal, hard-working Americans who want to relax and enjoy the games without the infusion of far-left politics and racial grievance mongering.

It would probably not be a reach to say that a good-sized chunk of the audience are the same people who voted to elect Donald Trump as POTUS and they don’t take kindly to seeing their country, as well as its leader, get trashed by corporate fatheads like Goodell.

Via Deadline Hollywood “Seahawks’ Blowout Win Sees ‘Sunday Night Football’ Ratings Down, Again”:

On a day that ended in gunfire and tragedy at a country music festival in Las Vegas, Sunday also saw continuing controversy with NFL players kneeling before games, more standing, locking arms, and some sitting during the national anthem.

Several members of the Seattle Seahawks chose to sit before Sunday Night Football kicked off last night, while the Indianapolis Colts decided to link arms in a show of unity for equality and racial justice. The result saw the Colts crushed as the Seahawks overcame early struggles (the Colts led the game at halftime) and scored a blowout 46-18 win.

Whether it was politics or the final score or a mix of both, it was no victory for NBC and the NFL last night.

With a 11.0/19 in metered-market results, last night’s SNF was down 5% from last week when the Washington Redskins beat the Oakland Raiders 27-10. As the league took another week-by-week ratings hit just a month into the 2017-18 season, Sunday’s game also was down a bit year-to-year. Compared with the then-season-low of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 43-14 smackdown of the Kansas City Chiefs in primetime on October 2, 2016, last night’s SNF dipped 2% in the early numbers.

As there is every week that the ratings plunge, the professional spinmeisters will come up with reasons as to why that ignore the ruinous effect of the league’s coddling of cop haters and the embrace of what can only be described as anti-Americanism.

Previously it was the hurricanes, you can bet that this week it will be the rampage in Las Vegas as well as a lousy game – even if it did feature the Seattle Seahawks and their mouthy collection of miscreants who have been frontrunners in the politicizing of the games.

Whatever the official excuses will be, the trend has been ongoing for too long to be dismissed as anything but fan dissatisfaction with the disrespect of the national anthem.
