The Buck Stops…With Bush???

Over three years into his presidency Barrack Obama is still playing the blame game.  Surely there is a bonus for the campaign staffer who realized that by some simple fudging of bookkeeping and dates the administration could change the spending numbers and once again blame Bush.

I can see it now…

A junior accountant from the firm of Shyster and Loophole (contracted to Team Obama) has an idea, “Look, it’s simple. If we just move the stimulus money back a couple months we can add it to George Bush’s budget. We can tack it on to his spending and it will make our numbers drop so that it looks like we have actually spent less than any other president!”
The accountant shares his idea with the boss. “What a great idea! If this works you’ll get a Tee Time with the President!”*

And so it is. In a recent Market Watch report the author states that the Obama administration has had the slowest spending since the 1950’s and hints that those who don’t  agree simply don’t understand how budgets and fiscal year spending works.  Many would disagree. In fact, here’s another point of view from one very irritated guy:

(This is not just a man off the street. Lee Doran is an attorney and account executive. He also runs one of the largest News and Politics channels on You Tube.)

Maybe you haven’t heard about it? This week President Obama hit the road sharing this new message that he, in fact, is not the spending president. I just point out it always goes up least under Democratic presidents. Quoting the president in a fundraising speech, “This other side, I don’t know how they’ve been bamboozling folks into thinking that they are the responsible, fiscally-disciplined party.”

Or maybe you haven’t heard about this as a controversy??? Many naive voters still get their news solely from the major networks. They don’t have or take the time to ferret out its veracity.  In this new age of blatantly biased news coverage one must wonder whether any press will fact check Obama’s new numbers as he touts lower spending than any president in the past fifty years. If the numbers from the Market Watch article are debunked or even if they are just looked at with a more critical eye it appears one thing is true. It’s time for this president to stop blaming the previous administration for all his woes.

As Truman famously said, “The buck stops here.” Isn’t it time for Team Obama to tell us what this administration has actually accomplished? To run on a truthful record? And to stop blaming Bush.

    1. You bring up a good point. Democrats now are blaming the Republican lead House for all the budget woes but seem quick to forget that they held the House during the last years of the Bush administration.

It is also interesting to watch both key Democrats and the left leaning media explain away this administrations results when they were so quick to crucify Bush. That 5% unemployment that was so ‘dreadful’ under President Bush sure looks good today.
