Chris Wallace Reportedly Having “Daily Breakdowns” Over Embarrassing Failure Of CNN+

The Blue State Conservative

There are some rumors, substantiated only by Twitter thus far, that former Fox News host and awful presidential debate moderator Chris Wallace was experiencing “daily” breakdowns over the collapse of CNN+ and his grim future prospects.

You know what? Good.

Lest anyone feel sorry for Wallace, he left Fox and his $10 million annual salary for even more money – one estimate tags it as high as $15 million per year. This alone should disqualify him from a pity party.

There is also the fact that Wallace spat on every loyal conservative toward the end of his decades-long run at Fox News, first by preening over Joe Biden at the abhorrently moderated presidential debate and later by reportedly leaving over a supposed feud with Tucker Carlson’s spot-on assessments and general conservative populism. Combined with his disdain for the average American and his $15 million misery, Wallace has exposed himself as nothing more than an elitist hack.

SOURCE: Chris Wallace is “having daily breakdowns” over the “miserable launch” of @CNNplus. Wants a “CNN show or is threatening to walk” they go on. “He is having staffers count how many times a day his promo is playing”

Based on these reports, and based additionally on what we learned about Wallace through his show and recent comments on walking away from Fox, it sounds like he is simply proof that leftism rots and corrupts the soul.

He had a great thing at Fox, but through his increasingly Trump Derangement Syndrome and fixation on leftist ideology he got lost, emotionally and mentally. He convinced himself Fox was the enemy  (it is, but not the way Wallace thought of it) and that CNN+ would be the utopian haven for spreading truth and news.

In an exclusive interview with the New York Times, here was Wallace breaking his silence as to why he actually departed the network:

I’m fine with opinion: conservative opinion, liberal opinion. But when people start to question the truth — Who won the 2020 election? Was Jan. 6 an insurrection? — I found that unsustainable. I spent a lot of 2021 looking to see if there was a different place for me to do my job.”

Before, I found it was an environment in which I could do my job and feel good about my involvement at Fox. And since November of 2020, that just became unsustainable, increasingly unsustainable as time went on.”

One of the reasons that I left Fox was because I wanted to put all of that behind me. There has not been a moment when I have second-guessed myself about that decision.

No second guessing, Chris? From the sounds of it, there is a spate of second guessing going on every millisecond. It is simply not healthy to demand interns and staff keep a constant eye on aired promos to literally count how many times they see Wallace’s face. That is the epitome of narcissism and self-

As reported by The Post Millennial, here is the current state of affairs at Wallace’s new home:

“Following the lackluster amount of subscribers to CNN’s new streaming platform CNN+, investments and projections for the platform are expected to be drastically cut. The news outlet initially planned to invest around $1 billion in the streaming service over the next four years, but this total is expected to now be cut by hundreds of millions of dollars.

CNN executives had originally expected to bring in around 2 million subscribers in the US in the service’s first year, and a total of 15-18 million after a period of four years.

According to sources that spoke with CNBC though, fewer than 10,000 people are using CNN+ on a daily basis two weeks after its launch and an extensive ad campaign. Though the number of daily viewers is lacking, CNN has yet to release the exact number of subscribers it has garnered.”

Good luck. He’s going to need it.

  1. Yes, Hailey Sanibel said it quite eloquently i.e., “an abhorrently moderated presidential debate”. That is what did it for me – his complete and utter failure at even a pretense of impartiality. Agree, not sorry for Chris Wallace; he is no great media personage. Having a bit of Schadenfreude.

  2. Wallace is so unaware of how insipid he has been all these years. A lifelong pretentious, progressive-liberal whose pedigree lands him the Sunday chair on the preeminent conservative cable news channel in the U.S., and it seems to gall him that legitimately conservative talent on FNC (Hannity, Ingraham, Kilmeade, Carlson, et al) would create bold, thought-provoking, conservative commentary during the evening programming! How dare they!!! It was just too provocative for tender-hearted Chris. His sophistication and his life-long commitment to the Marxist-flavored politics of the left, were being insulted by the honest conseratism that is practiced at the FNC.
