Soft on Crime Consequences Primer
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki recently mocked FOX News for reporting on the consequences of ‘soft on crime’ policies. Psaki lashed out on the liberal podcast, God Save America, ironically a Crooked Media production.
She compared the simultaneous feeds of four cable networks. She laughed about Judge Jeanine Pirro’s view on crime in America. She not only showed her ignorance to the plight of Americans not living or working in the White House, but she raised the ire of people on both sides of the aisle. No, Jen, FOX is not an alternative universe.
Crime and inflation are the two most important issues in voters’ minds, and Psaki does not understand that the primary purpose of government is the safety of all its people. For Psaki to minimize the consequences of the government’s soft on crime policies shows a disconnect to reality. If she needs a visual explanation, I suggest she watch the widow of Officer Jason Rivera calling out the Manhattan DA last week. The young woman pointed to the DA not enforcing laws on why her husband was no longer alive.
Psaki has relied on sarcasm and bad humor to downplay most questions from the FOX News White House reporters. This tactic is her effort to gaslight Americans to believe that FOX exaggerates the demise of American cities because of the rise in crime. Sorry Jen, but it will take far more than some snide comments from you to hide the truth. Crime is scaring the hell out of Americans. The administration is doing little to aid the public from this scourge. By keeping the Southern Border completely open, you can say they are complicit.
I am watching the funeral of Officer Wilbert Mora at St. Patrick’s Cathedral as I write this post. The sea of blue fills the street as far as the eye can see. At the same time, we are watching cutaways to the funeral of another officer in Houston and the reports of two slain officers in Virginia. I pray to God this does not happen so frequently that we become numb to the loss.
The President, ever disconnected to the needs of the country, will be visiting New York City tomorrow to discuss gun control with Mayor Adams. He is in the wrong place talking to the wrong people. First, he should be there today, sitting in the front row of St. Patrick’s to observe the respect, love, and loss this community feels for Officer Mora. Your continued silence on the war on Police is insulting. Psaki can lie forever about you not supporting the defunding of Police, but we have the tapes saying you support the reallocation of funds. That is the same thing, Mr. President.
The rule of law does not come easy to you, or your former Attorney General turned Vice President. The country is becoming more united than ever, but the factor bringing them together is their condemnation of your performance. Over 70% of Americans now feel you are failing at your job. You also have gone mute when it comes to condemning George Soro’s supported DA’s soft on crime philosophy.
My words to you, Jen Psaki, are to get off the podcasts and get into the nation’s newspapers. Look at the rise in all categories of crime. Not only gun-related offenses but assaults, rapes, snatch-and-grabs, and drug sales are out of control, and that is because the soft-on-criminal justice system no longer sees these acts as a crime.
As for the President, there is no hope he will impact the crisis. He is inept with an equally incapable staff. It will take local, county, and state agencies to solve this problem. And also a wiser electorate to put the people in office that will attack, not aid crime.
