“Resign, You Tyrant”: Biden Heckled on Visit to Deep-Blue N.J.

While touring damage caused by Hurricane Ida in New York and New Jersey on Tuesday, President Joe Biden was heckled by protesters in the Central Jersey municipality of Manville.

The New York Post reports:

A Manville, NJ, man interrupted Biden’s message by shouting, “Resign, you tyrant!” as he toured a devastated neighborhood. The heckler stood in his yard with a campaign flag for former President Donald Trump. Reporters positioned between Biden and the man said Biden did not react to the taunts.

Other pro-Trump protesters had greeted Biden’s motorcade along its route through North Jersey.

Multiple protesters were photographed giving the president a middle finger as he drove from Hillsborough Township to nearby Manville.

One person held a protest banner that said “F — Biden And F — You for Voting For Him.” Another sign said “Biden go back 2 the basement.”

Biden later attempted to use the event as a call to action against climate change — although there is no evidence to suggest that there has been a meaningful increase in hurricanes over the course of the past 50 years, nor is there any evidence to suggest that the issue would be resolved by governments cracking down on climate regulations.

Biden carried New Jersey, one of the bluest states in the nation, by 16 percent in 2020; in addition, Somerset County, in which Manville is located, voted for him by a margin of about 21 percent. Incumbent Governor Phil Murphy, a Democrat, is favored to win reelection in November in a landslide.
