L.A. County Announces Vax Mandate Day After Recall Fails

On Wednesday, Los Angeles County Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer announced the implementation of a mandate requiring all employees and patrons of certain nightlife venues to be fully vaccinated by Nov. 4.

As reported by Fox 11 Los Angeles:

Los Angeles County is planning on issuing a new health officer order later this week that will require proof of vaccination for indoor bars, wineries, breweries, nightclubs and lounges. The order will also require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test for outdoor mega-events, including Dodgers, Rams and Chargers games, County Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer told the Board of Supervisors Wednesday.”

This comes just one day after California’s Democratic governor, Gavin Newsom, successfully defeated an attempted recall by a margin of about 28% as of Wednesday night with roughly 74% of the vote tabulated.

Newsom has consistently advocated for and implemented some of the nation’s most stringent COVID restrictions — restrictions which ultimately proved themselves a driving factor in the recall making it onto the ballot.

The move by L.A. County has been labeled by some on the right as an act of vengeance against Californians by Democrat-run institutions — and prior to Tuesday’s vote, recall proponents speculated that California De

Democrats would only be emboldened to extend the reach of COVID mandates in the event that the effort failed.
