Knuckleheads Of The Week: 51% Of Americans Support Vax Mandates

The Blue State Conservative

Am I declaring that a majority of Americans are knuckleheads? If these polls are to be believed, that’s exactly what I’m declaring. When first concocting the idea of “Knucklehead of the Week,” the idea of having more than one person win the award at some point was considered likely. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were the favorites to be the first tandem to share the prize, but there was always a possibility that The Squad would have to split the title. Or perhaps Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi would have to divvy up the honor. We never dreamed we’d have to spread it across approximately 170 million Americans. Then again, if the shoe fits, put it on… that sure is a lot of shoes.

Winner: Polls show that a majority of Americans approve of Joe Biden’s COVID vaccine mandate

A CNN poll put the number at 51% of Americans approving of President Biden’s vaccine mandate, but an Axios/Ipsos poll puts the number even higher, at 60%. If we’ve learned nothing else in the past five or six years, it’s that we shouldn’t trust any poll, particularly those coming from leftwing media outlets like Axios and CNN. But even if we apply a fudge factor, even if we say they’re off by 15%, that still means there is an extraordinarily high number of Americans who think it’s a good idea for the federal government to force citizens to get vaxxed.

It is this point on which we must focus. If the polls had asked the question, “Do you think everyone should receive the vaccines?” and the numbers were at 60% approval, then that would be understandable. But that’s not what the poll results are saying. They’re not saying “you should get vaccinated,” they’re saying “the government should force you to get vaccinated.” That, my friends, is a big difference, and that is disturbing.

For full disclosure, I am vaccinated. I received the one-and-done Johnson and Johnson vaccine in April, and I’m glad I did. I’ve known several people who have died of COVID, including relatives. I know several people who came down with severe cases of the disease, most of whom still haven’t returned to their pre-COVID level of health, and some of whom will never be right again. COVID is no joke, and I don’t want to get it. But that’s my choice. I spoke with my doctor, I did my research, and I made the decision to get the J&J shot instead of one of the mRNA shots. Many of you have made the opposite decision, and that’s OK. Or at least it should be.

We could write thousands of words describing why or why not we should get vaccinated, but that’s not the issue. That’s not even close to the issue. At issue is the role of government. Should the government be involved with facilitating the productions of medications like vaccines? Certainly, and particularly when faced with the daunting challenge President Trump was presented with last year. Should the government be responsible for ensuring the efficacy and safety of vaccines? Of course, and this is a critical role. Is it proper for the government to promote vaccinations and encourage citizens to take them? Probably, assuming they’re safe.

However, should our federal government be forcing citizens to get vaccinated under the threat of losing their jobs? Hell no. Biden’s vaccine mandates are tyrannical in the extreme. Biden’s executive order is authoritarianism, through and through. And anyone who thinks it’s a good idea for Joe Biden to unilaterally issue this executive order is a short-sighted, naïve moron.

We’ve all dealt with vaccine mandates over the years. Most of us were required to receive measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines, not to mention polio and smallpox. But none of those vaccines were required by the federal government, they were mandated by state and local governments. And if you were to dig into those policies/laws, you’ll likely find that elected legislators approved the measures and that state’s governor or that city’s mayor then signed off on it. That’s what’s supposed to happen in a Democratic Republic, but that’s not what Joe Biden did. Joe Biden didn’t go to Congress; he just issued a dictatorial executive order.

If Biden, or Trump, or Obama, or anyone else can just willy-nilly, at the drop of a hat, mandate that someone inject a medication into their body, where does that authority end? Can they insist on microchips under your skin to be tracked by the FBI? Can they require us all to take genetic altering medications? The possibilities are endless and frightening. This is not OK. It’s unacceptable for our government to try and force these types of mandates on anyone, and if you disagree, you’re a knucklehead.

Honorable Mention #1: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) wears a “Tax the Rich” dress to Met Gala

By now, most of you have seen the pictures, but in case you haven’t, please see below. The idea of “Tax the Rich” is idiotic to begin with, considering the top 10% of America’s earners already pay 90% of all federal taxes. We already tax the rich… and exorbitantly so. Additionally, the top 52% of all wage earners pay 100% of all federal taxes, which means almost half the country pays nothing. But those facts aren’t what earns AOC her spot here.

The Met Gala is the epitome of capitalism. There are limousines, and Rolls Royces pulling up in front. Attendees are decked out in attire and jewelry worth tens of thousands of dollars. It costs $30,000 just for a ticket. These people are some of the wealthiest of the wealthy, and they all attained that wealth through capitalism. Yet here we have the genius AOC wearing that dress, and none of them could even understand the irony. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wearing a dress to the Met Gala recommending “Tax the Rich” is akin to Cinderella going to her ball wearing a gown stating, “Down with Fairy Godmothers!” What a joke.

Honorable Mention #2: Vice-President Kamala Harris implores us to “protect the vaccinated” from the unvaccinated

Her direct quote from Twitter is as follows, “By vaccinating the unvaccinated, increasing our testing and masking, and protecting the vaccinated, we can end this pandemic.” Um, OK Madame Vice-President, if you say so. But isn’t the whole point of getting vaccinated to protect us from the virus? So, if I’m vaccinated, and I come in contact with someone who isn’t, aren’t I already protected? This incoherent messaging from the Biden Administration is clearly making matters worse. Nothing they say about vaccines, or masks, or anything COVID-related makes any sense. If Edith Bunker had gone into politics, signed up for a Twitter account, and decided to post tweets about COVID vaccines, those tweets would look exactly like this one from VP Harris.

  1. The REAL debate is not about whether or not we should vaxx or not, nor is it pro-life vs abortions…..It is about losing the FREEDOM of choice.

Our Freedoms in this country have been “Paid in Full” by millions of unselfish Americans giving their all since the inception of our Nation and made it the most exceptional in the world…THE LOSSS OF FREEDOM IS TO BE MOURNED.

Would be most interesting to ask that 51% what other freedom they want to throw way? Does a woman truly have a right to her own body more than those choosing not to take the shot.

  2. How can the Government support a woman’s choice to abortion, saying it’s your body – your choice, then take away that choice when it comes to the vax?
