Federal officials reportedly performed several search warrants in Starr County, Texas, and made several arrests on Wednesday morning, according to local reports.

Some 19 individuals, including a Starr County justice of the peace, were arrested in connection to a drug-related conspiracy, according to My RGV. Drug Enforcement Administration Assistant Special Agent in Charge Richard Sanchez expects more arrests will be made in connection with the investigation that was opened in June 2020.

Law enforcement officials have seized over 660 pounds of methamphetamines, 6,600 pounds of marijuana, around two pounds of fentanyl and some $100,000 since the investigation began, My RGV reported.

More than 150 local, state and federal officials with around 20 different agencies participated in the operation, My RGV reported. Agencies including the FBI and Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations were reportedly involved in the searches, according to reporter Valerie Gonzalez.

Law enforcement officials seized around eight vehicles, 19 firearms and an unknown amount of cash, Sanchez said, My RGV reported.

“Three flash bangs were heard in one neighborhood off of Eisenhower Road,” Gonzalez said in a tweet. “Local police showed up in response.”

Neither the Starr County Sheriff’s Office nor the Rio Grande City Police Department responded to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
