Stupidest Story Of The Week: Conservatives And Republicans Are Just Like The Taliban

The Blue State Conservative

While the stupidity exhibited by the Biden Administration with its implementation of their withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan has reached levels we have never seen before in American government, the real-life implications and potential peril in which all of us have now been placed because of their inanity demand that that story is placed in another category. Biden’s Afghanistan fiasco as a whole is far more horrifying than it is stupid. Therefore, let’s consider the story of Biden allies’ attempts to spin this particular narrative.

Winner: Democrats And Their Media Attempt To Equate The Taliban With Republicans and Conservatives

This ploy has been used by the left for years, but it doesn’t make their stupidity any more palatable when they do it. Their strategy is to take a current political opponent or initiative with which they disagree, and against whom they’d like to launch an attack, and then try to equate that person or issue with an extreme example of another person or issue. Hyperbole at its worst.

For example, Donald Trump isn’t just a bad guy, he’s just like Adolf Hitler. Election integrity laws aren’t just problematic, they’re just like Jim Crow. And now we have this narrative: Yes, the Taliban in Afghanistan may be evil, religious fanatics, but they’re really just like conservatives and Republicans in the U.S.

There are several examples we could use to illustrate this silliness from this past week, but let’s focus on two: both of which are brought to us by the geniuses at MSNBC.

On Sunday, as the mayhem in Afghanistan was unfolding, MSNBC host Joy Reid gave us this gem when she tweeted, “This is the real-life Handmaid’s Tale. A true cautionary tale for the US, which has our own far religious right dreaming of a theocracy that would impose a particular brand of Christianity, drive women from the workforce and solely into childbirth, and control all politics,”

I don’t know what Joy Reid’s particular religious views are, and I really don’t care. I’ll assume at this point that she’s not a Christian and is simply ignorant on certain matters of our faith. Regardless, one doesn’t have to be a Christian to recognize the reality of our religion. It is in Christian nations in the West, in countries such as ours, where women have achieved the highest level of equality. It was almost exclusively the efforts of Christians that resulted in women voting, and we now have more women graduating from college than men, and a majority of younger doctors are women, not men.

What we have achieved in the West regarding women’s rights, due largely to Christian values, is utterly remarkable, and ironically, we could point to Reid herself as an example. Women have come so far in America, a clown like Joy Reid, with the IQ of a squirrel, can make what we can only assume is an extremely comfortable living by going on-air and on Twitter and spouting complete nonsense. Only in America.

Another MSNBC fool, Dean Obeidallah, made this curious assertion in a Wednesday opinion piece, “Taliban aren’t the only ones trying to impose their will on women’s bodies and choice,” and went on to compare anti-abortion initiatives in America to the atrocities against women currently and historically committed by the Taliban.

The Taliban are raping unmarried women and girls, forcing them to be accompanied by men before they leave their homes, stoning them to death for the sins of not wearing a head-covering, and beheading them if they try to get an education or read a book. This insanity, according to Obeidallah, is no different than those of us who believe that removing a baby from its mother’s womb and murdering it is morally wrong. The fact that a major news outlet such as MSNBC would even allow such an absurdity to be published speaks volumes as to whereabouts of the mindset of our friends on the left.

Not only is this type of idiocy on the left not new, it’s becoming more common, and we should expect it not just to continue, but to increase. In the meantime, all we can do is shake our heads and point out the folly. These people are buffoons.

Honorable Mention #1: NYC Mayor DeBlasio To Give $1K Per Month To Violent Criminals

New York City’s estimable Bill DeBlasio, recently declared the single-worst mayor in the country, announced this week his plan to hand $1,000 per month to “young men involved in lethal firearm offenses,” provided they work with “neighborhood change agents.” It’s like criminal extortion, only in reverse, and it’s idiotic. The program is called Advanced Peace and has already been tried in California. In one such instance, “the Sacramento program boasts that 44% of its 50 members ‘had no new arrests,’” which means, of course, that 56% did have new arrests. Are you sure you want to boast about that failure, Sacramento? Additionally, in the city of Stockton, the reverse effect was achieved, and murders actually increased by 60%. Instead of handing out taxpayer dollars to violent people asking them to not be violent, which clearly doesn’t work, why not just lock the violent people up and be done with it, eh Billy Boy?

Honorable Mention #2: Fired Tennessee Vaccine Official Staged Dog Muzzle Hoax

A woman named Michelle Fiscus was fired recently from her position in the Tennessee Health Department for her stance on adolescents being able to receive COVID vaccines without parental permission.  Fiscus, who remarkably has a “Dr.” in front of her name, blamed Republican officials for her firing, and claimed to have been the victim of terroristic threats when a dog muzzle was mailed to her house. Fiscus went so far as to appear on CNN with the gullible Anderson Cooper to push her story. There’s only one problem with her claim – credit card records prove that she bought the muzzle herself. Once again, we have a leftist nincompoop who so badly wanted to be a victim, she was willing to stage another absurd hoax. For the rest of us, the solution is to stop giving so much attention and credence to unproven or superficial victimhood. For Ms. Fiscus, the solution is to hire a capable lawyer. Perhaps Michael Avenatti might be available to take your case, Michelle.
