While everyone is panicking over the coronavirus by storming stores stocking up on toilet paper, water and hand sanitizers it is time to get a grip and look over this carefully.
Sure, this is a serious virus and we must take precautions, but this is not the first corona type virus we’ve had. While the coronavirus is serious and people in third world countries are dying in large numbers because they don’t have the research and care that we have here, the threat is much lower here.
Under Obama, we had the swine flu outbreak where 20,000 people came down with it and 1000 people died. Only after that did Obama declare it a national emergency.
While the Democrats and media were embroiled in their fake impeachment hoax of Trump, Trump was busy in January setting up the travel restrictions from countries like China and Korea, setting up a task force to combat the virus and getting researchers busy finding a vaccine for it. If these things weren’t done we’d be in a far worse condition than we are now. Trump completed in three weeks what Obama took months to do and a greater number of casualties yet no one bothered blaming Obama for 1000 deaths and calling it the Obama virus like the New York Times recently did with Trump.
The mainstream media establishment seems bent on fanning the flames of a possible crisis, working hand-in-hand with Democrats. Meanwhile, the CDC and affiliated agencies handling this crisis have made it clear that until treatment is available, more cases are sure to emerge, and additional deaths may occur as a result.
What is not being widely reported, though, is that in the majority of patients, COVID-19 tends to be mild, and recovery is likely in most otherwise healthy patients.
There are significant concerns at the moment about whether health officials are properly doing their jobs to contain the coronavirus now known as COVID-19 — concerns that, if warranted, seem to undermine reassurances provided by the Trump administration in recent days.
Earlier today, the Dallas Morning News reported that Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott slammed the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for allowing a patient who later tested positive for the disease to leave an isolation facility.
Meanwhile, A top U.S. health official disputed claims that the Trump administration blocked him from speaking out about the new coronavirus.
Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, categorically denied on Saturday about being “muzzled” by any administration, dating back to the presidency of Ronald Reagan.
“Let me clarify. I have never been muzzled — ever,” Fauci told reporters gathered at the White House for President Trump’s news conference meant to provide an update on COVID-19.
Instead, he claimed there was a misunderstanding.
“We were set up to go on some shows, and when the vice president took over, we said, ‘Let’s regroup and figure out how we’re going to be communicating.’ So I had to just stand down on a couple of shows and resubmit for clearance. And when I resubmitted for clearance, I got cleared,” he said.
The New York Times reported that, on Thursday, Fauci met with Vice President Mike Pence, who was appointed the day before to lead the administration’s coronavirus response effort, and described the virus as being “very serious,” which contradicted what Trump said about the threat of the illness being less urgent. According to the report, Fauci told associates that the White House instructed him not to say anything else without clearance.
Trump initially responded to a reporter’s question about Fauci and called it a “very dishonest question.” And Fauci agreed after clearing up the situation and said he has never been muzzled by this or any other administration.
Dr. Marc Siegel is a well-respected and famous medical expert and he’s praising the Trump administration for its response to the coronavirus.
Dr. Siegel is also slamming the media for how it has mishandled the situation and for how these fake news aficionados maligned President Trump’s efforts.
They’ve turned it into a circus—just like everything Democrats do.
Dr. Siegel gushed about how the Trump administration has worked, saying, “I’ve been handling these emerging contagions for about 20 years now, and I have to tell you, I’ve never seen one handled better.”
Dr. Siegel is a professor of medicine at New York University, a medical correspondent for Fox News, and the author of “False Alarm: The Truth About the Epidemic of Fear.”
Asked on SiriusXM’s “Breitbart News Sunday” about how the news media has handled the outbreak, he said, “They’re certainly not helping because they’re hyping, and the hyping leads to hysteria.”
Siegel said the Trump administration’s coronavirus task force brings together the right people.
“The task force are really top players,” said Siegel, noting the inclusion of Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Fauci is “one of the top infectious disease experts in the country,” he noted.
