It was one of Joe Biden’s earliest statements after becoming President Elect and man did the people below the border listen. Biden threw out the welcome mat and told everyone who was listening that there would be no action taken against illegal border crossers during his first hundred days of his administration. The floodgates opened and the caravans began virtually overnight. Border crossings have nearly tripled in the last two months and this is not the normal peak period for immigrant crossings of our Southern Border. Those months when the numbers normally rise are April through June. What we are seeing now paints an ugly picture of what the next quarter of 2021 will bring.
The numbers are exploding and we are not prepared for this surge
The Biden Administration is doing all they can to avoid labeling this travesty at the border a “crisis”. Instead they call it a challenge that they are working to control. That is spin on steroids. The facilities are over capacity. Facilities that had been retired under the Trump Administration due to lack of need, are being reopened. The child “cages” that Biden had said were not humane, even though they were put in place by the Obama / Biden Team are now being used but have been renamed as Child Detention Centers. That makes them so much better. People crossing are not being completely tested but it is known that there have been hundreds who have tested positive for COVID-19 but were released into the American population. Army bases as far away as Virginia are being used to house illegal immigrants and buses are heading from Texas, New Mexico and Arizona to a neighborhood near you with undocumented people from all over Central America. Uneducated, untested, unable to support themselves, they are now yours to support.
In the most insulting comments yet from the current administration, it was declared that this is not an illegal surge but a march for hope…the hope that this administration is going to treat them far better than the Trump Team did for the last four years. What that really means is that Trump had the border under control and the Biden Team has dismantled every obstacle you might encounter as you breach our border and enter America illegally. This is wrong, it is dangerous, it is a threat to our security, it is a boon for the illegal gun and drug trade, it encourages the flow of children into a world of sex trade and a life of abuse and horror. Biden may call this humane, those of us in control of our faculties call is insanity. We can only hope that somehow, possibly through lawsuits being played out by Arizona and Montana (yes Montana is concerned of the influx of illegal drugs) that this insanity can be brought under control. By the way, any way you look at this situation, to call it a crisis is an understatement.
