White Privilege at the Capital Riot, Or More Twisted Left-Wing Narratives?
In a Vanity Fair article by Jimmie Briggs, Biggs spins a narrative that suggests – “the unbearable whiteness of storming the capitol.” Well, … here we go again, the race card. Nevertheless, let’s get into the specifics of the charges to set the record straight. Briggs states:
To be clear, when I refer to whiteness, I mean the privileges, expectations, and elevated humanity afforded those in American society whose skin happens to be white; who exist daily in varying degrees of proximity to white people; who actively seek the affirmation of and their raison d’être from white people—and/or those whose aspirations for themselves, their families, and their communities are modeled on some kind of reflection of whiteness.
Televised scenes showed thousands of Donald Trump-supporting rioters and criminals, largely white and typically mask-less, descending on the nation’s largely Black capital. They held alternate-reality rallies. They heard speeches intended to recklessly inflame emotions and not-so-subtly encourage violent confrontation. For weeks, reports on various media platforms, across the political spectrum have discussed January 6, 2021, as a day when groups ranging from the Justice Department–targeted Proud Boys to Women for America First were expected to parachute into Washington, D.C., to try and defy Congress’s certification of Joe Biden’s election as the 46th president of this country.
Nevertheless, despite the mobsters’ extraordinary disregard for the rule of law, for agents of law enforcement, and for social norms regarding government, government property, and government processes, a near-mythical graciousness was shown to the insurrectionists. They were allowed in after the fences were breached. And they were free to wantonly roam the United States House and Senate hallways, entering offices, intimidating elected officials and their staffers, and taking a selfie on a cell phone, at times with willing Capitol Police.
Biggs states in his piece that the Capital rioters were mostly white. But in contrast, Black Lives Matter protesters’ demographics show the vast majority were white as well. Given the demographics of the country, is this so surprising? Biggs seems to feel that a largely white population does not have any right to descend on a city, the nation’s capital no less, to protest if it has a demographic not of the same color. Biggs assertion is absurd, and frankly, a racist comment.
But Biggs is not alone. There is a consolidated effort in the mainstream media to suggest that the Capital rioters were handled with kid gloves because – white privilege. See here yet another spin. There are many. Watch a CBS video below that tries to do the same thing.
Other narratives are spinning the story that somehow, the Capital rioters are getting judicial preferential treatment. In the following tweet, it suggests that a Ferguson rioter getting harsher treatment than the Capital rioters.
However, Joshua Williams, one of Ferguson’s more prominent activists, was arrested in December 2014 for setting a fire outside a QuikTrip convenience store during the heated protest. Williams was ultimately sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to arson, burglary, and theft charges. Sorry, there is a difference, though there may be more charges are made against the Capital rioters. Equal treatment under the law should be maintained – see here the Right Wire Report statement on this and what should happen to the violators of our nation’s capital. In the meantime, we may find that this narrative may be reversed.
Were the Capital protesters/rioters only white? Sorry but this narrative, too, of white only Trump supporters is simply not true. Take a look at this characteristical photo during the Capital protests. There are plenty of people of color present. Conservative ideologies are not the domain of “whiteness.”
But what of the police handling of the situation of the Capital rioters? Did they get a free pass in terms of “getting away” with their nefarious activities? The Right Wire Report asked as well, where were the police on January 6, 2021? Did the police stand-down to help the Capital rioters? NO! In fact, in the end, it hurt them. The real question is, who planned this police stand-down?
House Majority Whip James Clyburn said that the ease in which rioters were able to get into the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, suggests that someone on the inside of the Capitol was “complicit” in the assault. Was not this “complicit” stand-down of police an effort to entrap the few wrongly motivate Trump supporters? If the police were there to prevent this riot, this situation would have never happened. Notwithstanding the issue that the 100 or so rioters were a mix of Trump supporters, BLM/Antifa, and other provocateurs, that are not characteristic of the average Trump supporter. The result is that 100,000s of peacefully Trump-supporting protesters are all now tainted. Though the Capital rioters were wrong, to call this a serious coup or an insurrection is laughable.
Then there is the issue of an unarmed “protester/rioter” Ashli Babbitt shot dead. Do we hear the voices of over-handed police using deadly force? What if the woman was black – how would the media handle this differently? Remember George Floyd and the host of victims/perpetrators that sparked months of protest in the summer of 2020. If one is black one gets the groundswell of mainstream media sympathy. If your white, worse yet a conservative – you are demonized. White privilege does not work so well in this case.
The full force of law enforcement is going after the Capital rioters. The speed at which the identification and apprehension of these folks is breathtaking – on full display on mainstream media. Did we see this same vigilance when it came to Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters in the same way? When law enforcement wants to, they can act with precision. Is this more white privilege?
And it is not just those Trump supporters on January 6, 2021, that have been harmed. There is a national purge going on right now to eliminate conservative voices. We see this across all social media platforms. But it does not stop here:
- Conservatives receiving the wrath of the full force of mainstream media.
- Making lists of people to ensure they can not get employment.
- Calling for the resignation of Congressional members – Republican senators Hawley and Cruz face calls to resign.
- An then the possible impeachment of a President to ensure there is no political opposition – by trying to ban a future opposition candidate.
This is white privilege? If you believe this … you are crazy. But of course, you are not crazy. The Left knows very well the media game they are playing – play the race card when all else fails. One must say, the Left has played this very well. The white privilege accusations are mere Left-wing political narratives to destroy the American Republic to usher in their distorted Marxist utopia. Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House, piles on and made recently a rather despicable racial comment – see below.
“It has been an epiphany for the world to see that there are people in our country led by this president, for the moment, who have chosen their whiteness over democracy.”
To constitutionally redress by asking your government to investigate alleged election fraud is now racism? Is Speaker Pelosi igniting and inciting more racial division in America? The guess is that she doesn’t care, being drunk with power, using minorities as pawns to achieve her goals.
