Travelers Rejoice: CNN to End Airport Network

CNN CEO Jeff Zucker notified network staff that the company would end the Airport Network that has tormented travelers for 3 decades.

“CNN Airport Network will end operations as of March 31,” Zucker announces in the memo. “The steep decline in airport traffic because of COVID-19, coupled with all the new ways that people are consuming content on their personal devices, has lessened the need for CNN Airport Network.”

This could also be a foreshadowing event. Without Trump to endlessly bemoan, CNN’s ratings have only one direction to go. Cuts must be made, and made quickly.

The network gained exclusive access to several major airports by reportedly paying the airports to show only their content and offering money for the television equipment showing CNN.

“CNN Airport is broadcast in more than 2,400 airport gates throughout the U.S. and is seen by 323 million people annually at travel hubs,” according to a CNN Airport media kit.

Now that Democrat-favored lockdowns of the economy have decimated the travel industry, it’s no longer in CNN’s financial interest to beleaguer passengers with their awful content.
