A Fire Department of New York fire truck responding to an incident collided with a Mercedes and ended up in a Brooklyn storefront leaving six people injured, the New York Post reported early Monday morning.

The fire truck was responding to reports of a structural fire around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night, the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The truck hit a Mercedes vehicle and ended up inside of a Coquette Kids clothing store in Brooklyn, New York, police said, the Post reported.

WATCH:

The driver of the vehicle was taken to Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, and the five firefighters were transported to the NYU Lutheran Medical Center, also in Brooklyn, the FDNY told the DCNF. All patients were in stable condition as of Monday morning.

Parts of the storefront had to be removed or cut out by firefighters to free the fire truck, video of the incident shows. The truck was eventually pulled out of the mangled storefront by a rope attached to another truck with several firefighters cutting metal as it was being removed.

Five occupants were evacuated from their home nearby as a precaution, the FDNY told the DCNF. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The New York Police Department did not respond to the DCNF’s request for comment.
