Hey Christians: A little late to the party!

Hey! Yo! Christians… it’s a little late to start complaining about Donald Trump.

I’m watching all the garbage on social media from conservative Christian Republicans asking Christians all over to get on their knees and pray Trump doesn’t win!  HELLO!?!

First, does God work that way? Are you really supposed to pray for a human being not to achieve their goals? Especially one who claims to be a Christian? You’re praying against your brother in Christ?

Personally, I believe that the Bible scripture telling us not to judge lest we be judged is referring to salvation. So I would never say someone is NOT saved or not a Christian because I don’t know what’s in their heart! I’ll leave this one to the Lord on that person’s judgement day. To my Christian friends, how many times have you looked or acted “unChristian”?

Joe is a no-nonsense, conservative realist. He is not interested in “what if?” or “we could have!” He is interested in hearing both sides and has no problem taking on taboo issues with real questions looking for real answers. Racism, religion, and politics are all open season for topics, and he’s happy to offer up his opinion in the process! Joe is an engaging speaker mixing a healthy dose of sarcasm with the cold, hard facts, interacting with the audience, taking questions, and often playing “devil’s advocate”… just to make you to think! Actively engaged in community, church, and politics for well over a decade, Joe enjoys the reputation of being a man of integrity and ethics. He has had several successful businesses and held several executive positions with various Fortune 1000 companies. He is often sought after to teach classes his “black and white breakdown” of business ethics. If you like to “stir the pot” a little and you don’t want to hear any more political correctness, Joe is your guy! Just name a topic… politics, religion, racism, or most any current event. Joe can be heard daily across the airwaves and over the internet on several stations.

  1. Exactly, Joe. In fact, I would go even further;

    I was raised by Christian parents who believed the most powerful thing you could do was crawl in your prayer closet and “beseech” God. Oh, they prayed mightily for this Nation.

    You see where we are today?

    Christians of this mentality forget that individual CHOICE is paramount to God’s plan and this system of polarities (good and evil, right and wrong, night and day, light and darkness, physical and spiritual, ad nausea).

    A pastor friend has told me on more than one occasion that I quote the Bible “out of Context”. There are many Christians who have this same kind of PRIDE because they feel a little enlightened above the rest of us. This is that same kind of judgment that you’ve pointed out! That usurps the authority of the Holy Spirit! As if somehow their diligent study of the “Word” elevates them to some kind of “Spiritual Superior”. What was that about pride and a fall?

    This is the ACTION Christians need to fight the Great Red Dragon (you know it says that power was given to him to over come the Saints but it NEVER says he succeeds!!!); get your physical asses OUT of your prayer closets and off your ecclesiastical soap boxes and speak the truth of Common Sense – IN PUBLIC! It isn’t always a message of spiritual salvation but a message of BLACK and WHITE – this is RIGHT and that is WRONG – NO APOLOGIES TRUTH! You are not just fighting a rogue government! You are fighting a CULTURE!

    To those who have ears let them hear!

  2. Interesting response. In some aspects I agree. As the body of Christ, we cannot and must not continue to neglect our responsibility to actually go out and be lights in a dark world. We are called to LIVE our faith and be salt in the world (Matt 5:15, Ephesians 5:1-8, Philippians 2:14=15, Colossians 1:9-12, James 2:26) not blend in and pacify a dying culture. Sadly we have become part of the problem, and refuse to proclaim and live out the solution. We have become more concerned about offending people and stepping on toes than standing for truth and righteousness. I’m not saying we are to be rude and unloving, but we need to quit living to get the acceptance/approval of people (John 12:42-43). We are not to be self-righteous but we are to be righteous. Also, we must not ignore the importance of prayer. Ephesians 6:10-18 and 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 indicate the battle is spiritual in origin (manifested in the physical). Therefore, we cannot win by physical means alone. Although we don’t fully perceive the benefit of the prayers of others, it does not mean there were no benefits. Your parent’s prayers for example likely helped reduce the speed in which the culture has declined and were instrumental in many battles you may never know about. Lastly, prayer may not change our immediate situation but often changes our hearts. One of the main purposes of prayer and living our faith is to become more like Christ (to know God much more deeply, to know and experience His power/strength, to love Him and others as we grow in the fruit of the Spirit, and to live to please Him), not to just simply get things we want. I think the good point you were making is that we are not to just pray, we must also live our faith. To that I say, you are absolutely correct!
