Laredo Port of Entry CBP Officers Intercept Liquid Methamphetamine Worth Over $1.4 Million

LAREDO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations (OFO) officers intercepted a significant amount of liquid methamphetamine with an estimated street value of more than $1.4 million in one enforcement action at the Juarez-Lincoln International Bridge.

“Our frontline CBP officers maintain a constant focus on our border security mission and this methamphetamine seizure perfectly illustrates that commitment,” said Acting Port Director Andrew Douglas, Laredo Port of Entry.

The seizure occurred on Oct. 15 at the Juarez-Lincoln International Bridge when a CBP officer referred a 1999 GMC Yukon SUV for a secondary examination. Following a canine and non-intrusive imaging system inspection, CBP officers discovered a total of 73 pounds of alleged liquid methamphetamine.

The liquid methamphetamine has an estimated street value of $1,464,736.

CBP officers seized the narcotics and the vehicle and the case was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) special agents for further investigation.
