Man Arrested After Allegedly Shooting Two Washington Police Officers, Killing One
A man who allegedly shot and killed a Washington police officer and injured another during a traffic stop was arrested Monday night, according to police.
Officers with the Bothell Police Department outside of the Seattle-metro area tried to pull over a car around 9:40 p.m. Monday, but the driver allegedly refused to yield, police told KOMO News. The driver fled police, ran over a person on a scooter and then opened fire on officers, killing one, as he fled his vehicle, KOMO News reported.

The surviving officer was released from the hospital Tuesday after being rushed into treatment the night prior, a hospital spokesman told the local outlet. An hours-long manhunt for the suspect allegedly responsible for the shooting took place after responding officers discovered their deceased fellow officer, police told KOMO.
The suspect — who has yet to be identified — was reportedly located on a rooftop hours after he opened fire on the two Bothell officers, the police department said in a tweet.

The identities of both the cops struck by gunfire Monday night have not been released by authorities. The incident marks the first time in 25 years that a Bothell officer has been killed, Capt. Mike Johnson told KOMO.
A local city councilman said he was “heartbroken” by the late night spell of violence.
