33 Illegal Aliens Found in Box Trucks at Immigration Checkpoints
EDINBURG, Texas – Smugglers continue to use dangerous tactics during alien smuggling attempts.
Yesterday afternoon, agents working at the Javier Vega Jr. Checkpoint referred a box truck to the secondary inspection area after a Border Patrol K9 alerted to the vehicle. At secondary, agents opened the cargo area and discovered 20 illegal aliens concealed inside.

That same night, Brooks County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Falfurrias Border Patrol Station to inform agents of a possible lost and injured subject who called 911 for assistance. Agents immediately responded to the last known GPS coordinates of the caller and, after an hour of searching, located a Guatemalan woman who was abandoned by her smugglers. A Border Patrol Emergency Medical Technician evaluated the woman and arranged for transportation to a local hospital for treatment of an ankle injury.
All subjects will be processed accordingly.
