On May 23, a CBP officer at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge encountered a brown 1999 Ford F150 pickup driven by a 20-year-old woman and referred her for further inspection. The secondary inspection, which included utilizing non-intrusive imaging equipment (NII), resulted in officers discovering 122.3 pounds (55.48 kg) of alleged methamphetamine hidden within the truck’s gas tank.

CBP OFO seized the narcotics, the truck, and arrested the woman from Houston, ultimately turning her over to the custody of agents with Homeland Security Investigations who continue with the investigation.

  1. It seems that the drug traffic is particularly heavy in this area as of late. The “essential’ would seem to discourage a pick up w/ a lone female from attempting to cross….unless she believed ‘a friend’ would be on duty ?? curious
