Two people, including a federal security contractor, were killed Friday night during protests over the death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man who was killed in police custody earlier this week.
The FBI said it is investigating the fatal shooting of a Federal Protective Services officer outside of the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building in Oakland on Friday, according to the San Francisco Gate.
An assailant in a vehicle began firing at security officers stationed outside the federal building, according to reports. One officer was injured, and another was killed.
A Detroit man also died Friday after he was shot near protests in that city.
According to Detroit’s WXYZ, the 21-year-old man was shot in his vehicle and later died at a nearby hospital.
The killings highlights the violence that swept across the nation Friday in the wake of Floyd’s death.
Earlier Friday, former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was arrested and charged with third-degree murder in Floyd’s death. Video footage showed Chauvin kneeling on Floyd’s neck for nearly 10 minutes after he was detained on suspicion of an attempted forgery.
Floyd could be heard pleading for help while Chauvin stayed on top of him. The officer maintained his position for several minutes after Floyd stopped calling for help, the video shows.
Protests in Minneapolis turned to looting on Wednesday and Thursday night. Numerous businesses were set on fire, and stores like Target and AutoZone were looted. Protesters also stormed the 3rd police precinct in Minneapolis on Thursday, and set it on fire.
Protests erupted all across the country on Friday. Some of the hot spots included New York City, Atlanta, and Dallas.

It’s no longer about George Floyd, now it’s the looting and burning of innocent business’s, and then running away!
When you burn a Post Office, which contains stimulus checks, food stamps, and first of the month welfare checks for Minneapolis’s poorest people and veterans, it shows you don’t care what color innocent people are!
It was never about Floyd. It’s about hatred against the police. It’s never gone away. It’s about Antifa, a domestic terrorist organization. It’s about the pandemic, it’s about the hatred for trump.. I shed no tears for Floyd, drug dealer , attempted robber, funny money passer… just another thug. I wonder what killed him, wasn’t asphyxiation. Cop might’ve had a hand in it, but not murder, manslaughter at best. Not caring one iota.
Why do only democrats riot? Simply because all democrats are scum!
While I understand a PEACEFUL protest in the twin cities area.
I have to ask… What does some Northern Liberalized Socialist Democrat run City have to do with 100’s of other US cities?

My elected Law Enforcement Chief is BLACK as they come here in the Middle Eastern Ga. Area. .
He controls and manages 1 of the top 10 Ga Police forces in the state.
Despite his great track record and our city politically Black run and operated.
We have had several semi-peaceful protests over the last 5 days.
Strangely all located in Major Shopping areas, the Mall area, near gun stores and/or upper middle class areas.
The Deputies have had to quickly step in and arrest a few trying to start rioting/looting.

We had NOTHING to do with some Northern Liberalized Socialist Democrat run city’s screw up?

What I do see is: The Democrats having failed at Impeachment, failed at Open Borders, Failed at Socialism vs. US Businesses, a Failed silent coup, a Failed Covid-19 mail in ballot scam plan, Failed dictator type controls, The Loss of 100’s of 1,000’s voters, and Uncle Joe running his mentally challenged racist mouth. Needed a distraction.
