What the Impeachment Vote Says about the Democrats Isn’t Pretty
As I write this I have to admit to munching on a crow drumstick. I was certain the Democrats wouldn’t actually vote for impeachment, rather they would just use the hearings as a way to smear the president. I thought if it did go so far as to taking a vote enough Democrat Representatives in districts Trump won would vote not to impeach to protect their reelections. Boy! Was I wrong? Not only did the Democrats create articles of impeachment and vote on them, but almost all of those at risk Representatives also put their jobs in jeopardy by voting to impeach the President.
So what does that tell you about the current Democrat Party? Short answer – nothing good. As an added bonus the whole impeachment debacle underscores just how corrupt most of the major media has become as their slanted coverage clearly revealed their bias and status as a tool of the Democrat Party. Now, let’s consider the contemptable Democrat behavior and what it says about them as a party.
For starters, this impeachment drama demonstrated that the Democrats are dishonest, blatantly unfair, and hypocritical. If you want to convince me, convince me honestly, with no spun facts to bolster your argument. The Democrats did not do that. I don’t know how many times during the inquiry and debate I heard Democrats say Trump asked the Ukrainians to “dig up dirt on the Biden’s,” but that phrase is nowhere to be found in the transcript. That’s their spin. How many times in the impeachment proceeding did Democrats claim that Trump said Article Two gave him the power to do anything he wanted as if he was referring to the whole government, whereas in fact, since he was talking about firing Mueller he was probably referring to his ability to hire and fire anyone in the executive branch of government. Something he can indeed do. Saying things you know aren’t true and/or twisting facts to suit you is dishonest.
Of course, the Democrats have a long history of taking the President’s words out of context. For instance, he never called all Mexicans rapists. He was referring to those who were smuggling illegals across the border where between 60-80% of the women they smuggle are raped. Likewise, he has repeatedly been accused of saying that the white supremacists in Charlottesville were very fine people. In reality, he was talking about Southerners who wanted to keep their historical statues in place as opposed to those who want to remove them. They also claimed the President seriously asked the Russians to interfere in our elections by releasing Hillary’s emails. Listen to the tape of what then-candidate Trump said – in public – it was a joke. If he really wanted Russian help him doesn’t it make sense that the request would have been kept out of the public view? Again, this is dishonest. And when most of the media repeat these statements as true, without challenging or questioning them, that means they, too, are dishonest.
During the entire impeachment inquiry, the Democrats were blatantly unfair. You want to convince me… play fair. Instead, the Democrats ran what amounted to a Soviet-style show trial. They questioned witnesses in secret before allowing them to testify in public, they refused Republicans the ability to call witnesses and limited the Republicans’ questioning. It’s also worth noting that five of the members of the Intelligence Committee had previously already voted at least once to impeach the President before the Zelensky phone call. That is hardly a “fair” and objective panel. And speaking of fair, how can Representative Nadler have three Constitutional scholars who support impeachment opposed by only one who believed impeachment wasn’t warranted and claim to be even-handed? And how can the media then report, “Three of four witnesses say Trump committed impeachable offenses” and claim to be fair?
Finally, there’s the hypocrisy. That’s been a problem for both the Democrats and the major media for a long, long time. In the impeaching proceedings, we have the Democrats claiming quid pro quo presuming the President’s intent, yet we have VP Biden on tape doing exactly the kind of thing they think, but cannot prove President Trump was doing. We have Democrat leaders who were around for the Clinton impeachment on tape saying the exact opposite of what they are said about the Trump impeachment. Other examples of Democrat and media hypocrisy are really too numerous to list.
Sadly, the left-wing loons that form the Democrat base will follow their leaders like lemmings to the end. Hopefully, anyone with two or more brain cells to rub together will see this impeachment charade as what it was, something that will tarnish the Democrats and their media supporters as dishonest, unfair, hypocritical, and unworthy of being supported in the next election.

Subj.: Hold Conspirators Pelosi, Nadler and Schiff Accountable for Illicit Impeachment
To: Speaker Pelosi, Chairmen Nadler and Schiff,
Readers, in the interest of brevity, please independently research supporting facts for these allegations. Most of you know the facts because they are public knowledge or you are privy to them through your official activities. Many of you are attorneys and/or have access to taxpayer paid legal staff and resources. Exercise your check and balance on government.
Each addressee is a serial liar and is not credible.
I, like each recipient of this message, have the right and privilege to report violations of laws. (Motes v. United States (1900) 178 US 458, 461 & 463.)
Your words and conduct show that you conspired to impeach, and did vote to impeach, President Trump without evidentiary facts to do so. You also denied him the protections of the Bill of Rights in that process. Such is problematic for many reasons.
First, neither Article of Impeachment lies within the “sphere of legitimate legislative activity” (Tenney v. Brandhove (1951) 341 U.S. 367.) It is alleged that you knew/know the Articles to be fatally flawed.
Second, because the impeachment activity is not in the “sphere of legitimate legislative activity,” you do not have the protections of the Speech or Debate Clause. (Tenney, supra, ibid.)
Third, your conspiring to deny the protections of the Bill of Rights violates 18 U.S.C. § 241.
Fourth, your conspiring to effectuate the illicit impeachment activity violates 18 U.S.C. § 371. (Hass v. Henkel, 216 U.S. 462 (1910), and Hammerschmidt v. United States, 265 U.S. 182 (1924).)
Note “The Attorney General’s Duty to Defend the Constitutionality of Statutes”. (Attorney General’s op-olc-v005-p0025 0.pdf.)
Stop your malfeasance and criminality.
Sincerely,
John Lucas
