Liz Warren Stammers When Asked If She Would Allow Her VP’s Son to Sit On Foreign Company’s Board

Sen. Elizabeth Warren appeared to stammer and waffle Wednesday when a reporter asked her if it would be ethical if her hypothetical vice president’s son served on the board of a foreign company.

“No,” Warren told a reporter at a campaign stop in New Hampshire before pausing to reconsider her answer. She added: “I don’t know. I mean I’d have to go back and look at the details.” The reporter was asking the question in context to Warren’s pledge to end corruption in Washington, D.C.

Warren’s comments come as Democrats consider what to make of former Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, who served on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian gas company that came under scrutiny by authorities there. Biden’s son served on the company’s board while the former vice president served in the White House.

President Donald Trump has taken proverbial slings and arrows recently after acknowledging Sunday that he asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to open an investigation into whether Biden called for the firing of a prosecutor to protect his own son.

A transcript of Trump’s phone call with Zelensky in July confirmed the request, but did not demonstrate that he threatened to withhold aid if the investigation weren’t carried out.

There is no evidence Biden had the prosecutor fired to help his son, nor is there proof that Trump offered a quid pro quo to Ukraine if they were to investigate Biden’s actions. Biden announced Tuesday he will call for impeachment if Trump fails to comply with investigations by House Democrats, according to a campaign aide.

Sen. Bernie Sanders appeared to take a different tack when asked about the Ukraine kerfuffle. He did not confirm to reporters Tuesday whether he would use Hunter Biden’s past to win political points against Biden, who is leading the Democratic presidential field. He also suggested a failed Trump impeachment might help the president.

Warren’s campaign has not responded to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

  1. The following is not my own. It is part of a comment from someone else.

Calling for an investigation into actual corruption by a sitting US VP
    IS NOT
    Digging up dirt on Biden

It’s holding him accountable for abuse of state power.

  2. @Thomas LIEberals will not eat their own. It’s all about undoing the results of a legal and bona fide election and telling 63 million voters they don’t matter and the Demorrhoids know better! In short “shut up and live with it” I wish they would follow their own directive!!

  3. Since Leahy, Durbin, and Menendez did the same thing (wrote letters to a Ukraine prosecuter asking if he was cooperating with Mueller) why isn’t the Media and the House of Representatives demanding that they too be charged and removed from office? Seems as if what is good for the Goose should also be good for the Gander. However, if the three didn’t break the law, then how can they argue that President Trump broke the law? And that simply makes clear that the matter isn’t about the Law or about Justice…it is about the personal destruction of a sitting President to serve their own purposes.
