Gallup reports that the faith of the American people in virtually all institutions is at an all-time low,
The five worst-rated institutions, newspapers, the criminal justice system, television news, big business and Congress, stir confidence in less than 20% of Americans, with Congress, at 8%, the only one in single digits.
Further, according to a poll by the Trafalgar Group found that eighty percent of Americans (4 out of 5) believe we now have a two-tier “justice” system. The actual number is worse than that since 9% of those polled had no opinion, which means that of those who have an opinion 8 out of 9 believe we have a two-tier justice system (about 90%).
If someone thought that the people in these failed institutions would make an effort to regain the trust of the American people, they would be sorely mistaken. For example, the “justice” system, both Federal and local, have issued, as even former Democrat presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard sees, 4 sets of transparently political indictments of former president Donald Trump, who is current leading, by a massive margin, the field of Republican challengers to President Biden in 2024. In former days, the US would criticize Banana Republics where the government prosecutes their political opposition rather than face them at the ballot box.
What passes for our “news” media hasn’t been this excited since they beclowned themselves bu pushing the Trump-Russia collusion hoax, for which they had no evidence whatsoever, for several years, doing immense damage to the country. Most are so full of themselves that they are incapable of learning.
It is not only conservatives that have blasted all these bogus indictments but some of the best liberal legal minds in the country. GWU law professor Jonathan Turley describes Jack Smith’s indictment of Trump over the Jan. 6th riot as “a free speech killing indictment.” Turley has also stated that in the set of indictments of Trump and his associated by Georgia prosecutor Fani Willis’ indictments are “excessive and dangerous”. Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz describes the Jack Smith indictment as dangerous because the law has been “stretched” to indict Trump. Dershowitz adds that Smith’s “deliberately and wilfully leaves out” Trump’s statement to the crowd to protest peacefully and patriotically” in his indictment, which is “a lie by omission” that attempts to deprive Donald Trump of his constitutional rights. Dershowitz has also described the Alvin Bragg indictment against Trump in Manhattan (payments to Stormy Daniels) as full of “ethical violations” and “the most contrived, made-up crime I’ve seen.” It is a “Mickey Mouse” case. The Federalist lists 12 anti-Trump pundits who see Bragg’s case as terrible case. A New York jury found Trump liable for a rape that the alleged victim said never happened.
There are major problems with all of the accusations the Democrats and their media colluders have levelled against Trump. The multi-year Trump-Russia collusion investigation was a hoax engineered by Hillary Clinton and the DNC to cheat the voters out of a fair election. The charge that Trump tear gassed protestors at Lafayette Park for a Bible photo op is exposed as a hoax. Liberal feminist Naomi Wolf has admitted that after she viewed Tucker Carlson’s videos from Jan. 6th that the authorities had been hiding from the people she had to apologize to conservatives for believing “the farrago of lies” told to her by the legacy media.
Now that Trump is being indicted for the Jan. 6 riot and will have subpoena power to obtain documents, the Jan. 6 committee has deleted records that might have helped Trump make his case. Isn’t that convenient! And Tucker Carlson was fired from Foxnews, which generally pretends to be the one “news” channel that is fair to conservatives, just before he was to air his interview in which the chief of Capitol Police, Steven Sund, stated that “It doesn’t seem like people want to get to the bottom of” what really happened on Jan. 6th. Sund states that the authorities knew there was likely to be trouble but that it was “allowed to happen”, almost as if somebody wanted it a riot so they could blame it on Trump.
Trump was impeached for his phone call to Ukraine’s president Zelinsky in which he called for an investigation into the fact that Joe Biden stopped the investigation into his son Hunter’s business dealings in Ukraine, thereby pursuing a personal rather than a legitimate political agenda. First, however, asking for an investigation is not asking for a personal benefit because the investigation might clear Biden. Further, since it has lately become clear that there is substantial evidence of Biden family lies and corruption involving Hunter’s business dealings in Ukraine, and since it is the president’s job to expose corruption that might damage the United States, the Democrats impeached Trump for doing his job!
Against this background, it is astonishing that seven Republican Senators, Richard Burr (NC), Bill Cassidy (LA), Susan Collins (ME), Lisa Murkowski (AK), Mitt Romney (UT), Ben Sass (NE), Pat Toomey (PA) voted to convict Trump for instigating the Jan. 6th Capitol riot. Haven’t they noticed that Trump called for the protestors to go the Capitol “peacefully and patriotically” to make their “voices” be heard. Why are they uninterested in the fact that Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund states that no one really wants to get to the bottom of what happened that day. Similarly, Lt. Tarik Johnson, who was on duty on Jan. 6th, states that the Capitol police were woefully unprepared for what happened that day and that he wanted to testify but the Jan. 6th committee never contacted him: “I ask myself why every day,” said Johnson. Why were these Republicans so eager to vote to convict Trump when it has been so obvious for so long that there is a plethora of transparent problems about the Democrat’s fabricated narrative about Jan. 6th?
If one looks on their Twitter and Facebook pages one finds that these Republicans post clips of themselves with dogs or flowers or native American Totem poles or fishing or cute youths or national hot dog day or celebrating our “pioneer heritage” or softball games or some feel-good legislation or just plain shameless self-congratulation. We also have a Republican leader in the Senate who, after backstabbing Trump multiple times, spends more time staring off into empty space than Captain Kirk.
Whereas the Democrat’s move together in lockstep like a military organization, Republicans bicker with each other. However, it is incomprehensible at this point that any Republican cannot see the transparently unjust nature of Democrat’s relentless attempts to “get Trump” by any means necessary. It is a sad commentary on the Republican Party that former Democrats like Naomi Wolf or Tulsi Gabbard give Trump a fairer hearing than its own cast of weaklings.
Why do Republicans rush to cave to the Democrats before the facts are known? Is it virtue-signalling, self-promotion, leftism, cowardice, jealousy, corruption or simple weakness? Who are they really? What are their secret agendas? Conservatives need and deserve a lot more spine from their alleged “representatives” or the Left will destroy the country.
