The Most Popular Artists From Florida

Florida is a wondrous place. A tropical paradise for you to relax and enjoy your life. Many famous people come from this area, and among them, you can find some of the most popular artists from Florida. The music scene is amazing, but you can also find many talented painters. After all, what else to expect from a place where Cuban and Caribbean culture mix to bring you some of the most fantastic experiences of your life!

The most popular artists from Florida

There are so many amazing artists from Florida, I simply don’t know where to begin. It is only natural because Florida is the real culture hub. It wouldn’t do justice if I numbered all of the artists in a specific order because you can’t really say who is the best. Furthermore, art is closely tied with personal experiences and your own point of view. While one musician can mean the world to one person, it can be completely unimportant to someone else.

That’s why I have decided to talk from my point of view, in no particular order. Each of these people deserves to be number one!

Gloria Estefan

Since I am a gentleman, ladies come first! Gloria Estefan is a famous Latin pop artist. She was born in Cuba in 1957, but her family soon moved to Florida. Maybe they didn’t use services of orangemover.com to move, but you should most definitely give them a try!

Anyway, after graduating from the University of Miami with a BA in Psychology, Gloria became a pop singer. Because of her carrier in Miami Sound Machine, her vocal qualities really stood out. Later she continued a solo career.

Tom Petty

Gainesville, Florida gave us an amazing musician called Tom Petty. If you are not familiar with his work, which would be pretty hard, you should definitely give a chance to his bands, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and the Traveling Wilbury’s.

And who do we have to thank for bringing Tom Petty in front of a stage? Nonother than The King! Tom met Elvis when he was just 10 years old, and it sparked something in him.

Ray Charles

This is a name you simply must know. True, he was born in Georgia in 1930, but soon after his family moved to Greenville, Florida. He started learning about music at a young age, and his first teacher was a local cafe owner, Wylie Pitman. That’s how his love for the piano was born.

Even though he was blind, it never stopped him in his goal. He attended the Florida School for Deaf and Blind while learning about music. We can all say that Ray Charles is a true legend of the music scene, and surely one of the most popular artists from Florida!

As a big fan of Ray’s, I still have his records. If you own a worthy collection like this, be sure you keep your music records in a safe storage unit in North Miami. You can’t really put a price on something like this.

Some of Ray’s biggest hits are Hit the road Jack, Unchain my heart, and Georgia on my mind.

Jason Derulo

Let’s change our timeline a little. Jason Derulo is a known name on today’s music scene. An amazing artist, you must agree. Not only he was one of the most famous artists from Florida, but he is also extremely popular in Hollywood.

His songs often hit the top of the list, and stay there for a long time. Jason studied music at an art school in Miami, where he was also born. He lived in Florida for the biggest part of his life, and he had a studio in his crib. After selling his mansion, Jason moved to Hollywood to continue his successful music career.

Flo Rida

An obvious choice, am I right? Still, Flo Rida earns his spot on the list of the most famous artists from Florida, not just because of his name. Born in Carol City, Florida, as Tramar Lacel Dillard, he later changed his name to Flo Rida.

His home gave him an inspiration, and that is the best way in which he can represent his birthplace.

Mandy Moore

Another lady finds her way on the list of the most famous artists from Florida. Mandy Moore is a spectacular singer. She spent most of her life on Orlando’s music scene.

There is a funny story about how she got famous. During one of her sessions in Orlando, a FedEx delivery man heard her perform. One of his friends worked for EpicRecords at that time. He recorded a demo and sent it, and the rest is history.

NSYNC and The Backstreet Boys

Two fantastic boy bands both originated from Orlando. They shook the dance scene during the 90s’, and are still very popular today. Both bands were formed by producer Lou Perlman. Lou has a famous cousin, that we all know and love. Nonother than Art Garfunkel. After talking with him, Lou liked the idea of boy bands and went ahead to form two of the most famous ones in the world.

Lynyrd Skynyrd

The southern rock music scene was forever changed once these boys showed up. All born in Jacksonville, Florida, Lynyrd Skynyrd soon became one of the most popular bands of the 70s’. And that was even before they signed a contract for MCA Records.

I could write all day about them, so let me leave you with some well-known words from one of the most famous artists from Florida:

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
