The “Girl in Pink” is the young girl that was about to be stabbed by Ma’Khia Bryant before a Police officer ended the threat by shooting and killing Bryant. Fortunately for the Girl in Pink, we may never know her name as she is young and still has a long life ahead of her thanks to the fast-acting Columbus, Ohio Police Officer. On this day, one family still has their little girl while another family is grieving the death of theirs. Another tragic story that many are already jumping to judgment on.
We have already seen the video from the officer’s body cam and have heard the audio from the frantic 911 calls. But as is the case in this hyper charged environment where people are looking to feed the narrative of systemic racism, this shooting is working for these folks.
Lester Holt of NBC, who I wrote about just a short time ago, reported on the story last night but he and his team edited out the frames that clearly show the alleged attacker was wielding a knife in her right hand. This fact would have tainted their story of this being another “innocent” young person dead at the hands of overzealous Police. The original video was only 9 seconds long. I would think it wasn’t edited for time constraints. It would be nice to hear from Holt but I would not hold my breath waiting.
Jen Psaki took to her podium, of course, and condemned the loss of another child at the hands of Police and called for the need for Police Reform. She could have mentioned that one, and possibly two girls, were alive as a result of a Police Officer acting to end the threat. “She’s a child and we grieve for her family.”. How about she was a troubled individual with a knife and the intent to injure or kill?
Meanwhile, NBA megastar LeBron James encountered a fierce backlash after posting a tweet targeting one of the officers involved.
“YOU’RE NEXT #ACCOUNTABILITY,” the basketball player wrote with an hourglass emoji over a photo of one of the white policemen at the scene of the teen’s shooting.
Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas tweeted: “Lebron [sic] James is inciting violence against an Ohio police officer. This is disgraceful and dangerous. Is the NBA okay with this? Is Twitter?” The Los Angeles Lakers legend deleted the tweet and said he had sent it out of “anger”.
Valerie Jarret also showed her true colors. This was her poorly thought tweet:
“A Black teenage girl named Ma’Khia Bryant was killed because a police officer immediately decided to shoot her multiple times in order to break up a knife fight. Demand accountability. Fight for justice. #BlackLivesMatter.”
Valerie, a knife fight would have both girls equally armed. This was an attack…..your comment shows your lack of understanding but a willingness to inflame. You accomplished your intentions. Congratulations.
The Girl in Pink walked away. Had she not, there would be no story, no post, no drama. I truly hope that Joe Biden did not make a call on behalf of the American people. This person does not want that call made for me.
