Perhaps as a response to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un‘s threats against the United States, President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that the American nuclear deterrent is now “more powerful than ever.”
My first order as President was to renovate and modernize our nuclear arsenal,” Trump posted to Twitter. “It is now far stronger and more powerful than ever before. Hopefully we will never have to use this power, but there will never be a time that we are not the most powerful nation in the world!”

The president’s comments come a day after he warned North Korea to cease its threatening actions and rhetoric against the United States lest it face “fire & fury” unlike anything seen before.
