Feminists Divided Over ‘Sex Strike’ To Protest Abortion Restrictions
Prominent left-wing feminists are divided on whether to lead a “sex strike” in protest of new abortion restrictions.
Actress Alyssa Milano on Friday night said women should cease having sex in response to new legislation in several states banning abortions after the sixth week of pregnancy, when an ultrasound can detect the unborn baby’s heartbeat.
“Our reproductive rights are being erased. Until women have legal control over our own bodies we just cannot risk pregnancy,” Milano wrote in a viral tweet. “JOIN ME by not having sex until we get bodily autonomy back. I’m calling for a #SexStrike. Pass it on.”
Milano’s tweet came after former Florida Democratic congressional candidate Pam Keith called on women to “STOP having sex [with] conservative men” in her own viral tweet on Friday.
“Join us in helping cis men feel the physical consequences of our reproductive rights being systematically eliminated!” agreed left-wing attorney Kate Kelly.
But other left-wing women disagreed.

“The idea of a #SexStrike – where sex is something men seek and women withhold – is the same regressive model of sexuality that Republican men use to legislate! No thanks,” wrote feminist writer Jessica Valenti.
Valenti claimed that “a big part of the reason GOP men want to ban abortion is because they hate the idea of women having non-married, non-procreative sex!” She suggested women have more sex, rather than no sex, to protest abortion.
“Alyssa Milano is back being ridiculous again I see,” commented feminist writer Imani Gandy. “What is a sex strike going to do besides reinforce patriarchal notions that women have sex only to please men?”
“Someone needs to sit homegirl down and tell her she’s not helping. Her calls to boycott Georgia are equally asinine,” added Gandy.

This is an astonishing assertion. An attack on Christian principles – but hardly a big part or even a significant part of why “GOP” men want to ban abortion.
When I talk to GOP men that reason NEVER comes up. Someplace the perpetrator of this LIE might have heard someone – maybe a man, maybe a woman, maybe a fundamentalist Christian who might have added in his interpretation of God’s “disapproval” – and took the line as some kind of secret hidden agenda “we” don’t want you to recognize!

The opposition to MURDER of innocent unborn humans is just “a smoke screen” to keep you from our true maniacal purpose of “hating women for being just as human as we are” – of hating some violation of some “morality question” you’ve played into an issue – when it ain’t! And as to God’s “disapproval”; Murder of people who never get to hear their own name – and have the choice to love Him or reject Him likely has a much more significant bearing on His objectivity!.

…SO…you are going to stop having sex because you disagree that possibly saving the life of a child after a fetal heartbeat is detected is the law (and the right thing to do)….
…this is actually a good idea — if you stopped having sex long ago, we wouldn’t be having this discussion….so keep your knickers on ladies and save the state of georgia from your spawn……
