Kris Kobach in Talks with White House to Become Homeland Secretary
Kris Kobach confirmed Tuesday he has been communicating with the White House about becoming the Secretary of Homeland Security and said that he is eager to do so.
“He’s got an important decision to make,” Kobach said of Trump, in an interview with the Washington Examiner. “If he wants to have me serve in this capacity, and thinks it would be the best thing for the country, I would certainly do so.”
Immigration hawks favor Kobach’s tough stance on border protection, but establishment Republicans warn that his Senate confirmation could be difficult.
