Crowd Sings National Anthem After Approving Patriotic Police Cars

A crowd of Laguna Beach residents in California began singing the national anthem Tuesday, after the town approved a controversial patriotic design for their police vehicles.

Council members voted last night to keep the red, white and blue lettering, despite backlash from those who said it was too aggressive.

“I have to say I am so proud of California. I’m so proud that patriotism is alive and well in this state,” California resident Tomi Lahren told “Fox & Friends” Wednesday.

“We are not a lost cause and we’re going to keep fighting for this country and for our patriotic beliefs, even here in California,” she continued. “It is really laughable that someone would be so triggered by the American flag.”

California Councilman Steve Dicterow appeared on “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday to address the backlash, and said the American flag should inspire hope and unity, instead of fear and anger.

“I believe that the flag is a symbol of equality and of freedom. And it’s that very freedom that our police are protecting,” he said.

Only one person in the entire room raised their hand to oppose the measure and drew laughter from the crowd, according to Fox News.
