Presidential Itinerary – the details

President Donald Trump will receive his daily briefing as prepared by the intelligence community.

In the afternoon, the president will sign a proclamation for Education and Sharing Day, USA then meet with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.

The president will then attend a dinner at a private residence in McLean, Virginia with supporters.

The Chinese government contacted the White House earlier on Tuesday to brief us on Kim Jong Un’s visit to Beijing. The briefing included a personal message from President Xi to President Trump, which has been conveyed to President Trump.

The United States remains in close contact with our allies South Korea and Japan. We see this development as further evidence that our campaign of maximum pressure is creating the appropriate atmosphere for dialogue with North Korea.

President Donald Trump issued Tuesday afternoon a proclamation declaring March 27th, 2018 “Education and Sharing Day, U.S.A.”

CONTINUATION OF THE NATIONAL EMERGENCY WITH RESPECT TO SOUTH SUDAN

On April 3, 2014, by Executive Order 13664, the President declared a national emergency pursuant to the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C 1701-1706) to deal withthe unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States constituted by the situation in and in relation to South Sudan, which has been marked by activities that threaten the peace, security, or stability of South Sudan and the surrounding region, including widespread violence and atrocities, human rights abuses, recruitment and use of child soldiers, attacks on peacekeepers and humanitarian aid workers, and obstruction of humanitarian operations.

The situation in and in relation to South Sudan continues to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States. For this reason, the national emergency declared on April 3, 2014, todeal with that threat must continue in effect beyond April3,2018. Therefore, in accordance with section 202(d) ofthe National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1622(d)), I am continuing for 1year the national emergency declared in Executive Order13664.

This notice shall be published in the “FederalRegister “and transmitted to the Congress.

NOTICE REGARDING SIGNIFICANT MALICIOUS CYBER-ENABLED ACTIVITIES

On April 1, 2015, by Executive Order 13694, the President declared a national emergency pursuant to the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701-1706) to deal with the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States constituted bythe increasing prevalence and severity of malicious cyberenabled activities originating from, or directedby persons located, in whole or in substantial part, outside the United States. On December 28, 2016, the President issued Executive Order 13757 to take additional steps to address the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13694.

These significant malicious cyber-enabled activities continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the UnitedStates. For this reason, the national emergency declared on April 1, 2015, must continue in effect beyond April 1, 2018. Therefore, in accordance with section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1622(d)), I am continuing for 1year the national emergency declared in Executive Order13694, as amended by Executive Order 13757.

This notice shall be published in the “FederalRegister “and transmitted to the Congress.

Call with Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany

President Donald J. Trump spoke today with Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany to reaffirm the cooperative relationship between the United States and Germany under the Chancellors fourth government. Both leaders praised the joint announcements from North Atlantic Treaty Organization Allies, European Union member states, and other partners to expel undeclared Russian intelligence officers in solidarity with the United Kingdom and in response to Russias reckless use of chemical weapons. The President and the Chancellor discussed joining forces to counter Chinas unfair economic practices and illegal acquisition of intellectual property. They also discussed leveling the playing field on tariffs and the crisis with North Korea.

Call with President Emmanuel Macron of France

President Donald J. Trump spoke today with President Emmanuel Macron of France. Both leaders expressed support for the Wests strong response to Russias chemical weapons attack in Salisbury, United Kingdom, including the expulsion of numerous Russian intelligence officers on both sides of the Atlantic. President Trump stressed the need to intensify cooperation with Turkey with respect to shared strategic challenges in Syria. The two leaders also discussed trade practices between the United States and European Union and the next steps in addressing Chinas unfair trade practices.
