HuffPo dishonestly reports Trump calling immigrants ‘Animals’

The front page of the online news blog formerly known as The Huffington Post, but now just HuffPost,  is littered with anti-Trump propaganda. So it’s no surprise that, along with any and all negative actual news stories they could dig up, the editors at the extreme-left blog just kinda made one up.

The article is titled “Trump Refers To Immigrants As ‘Animals.’ Again” and it takes words from the president’s roundtable session on sanctuary policies way out of context.

President Donald Trump called on the Department of Justice to prosecute a political opponent and called immigrants “animals” during a on Wednesday.

“We’re taking people out of the country. You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are,” he said. “These aren’t people. These are animals.”

They included a video of the president making the above quoted “animals” statement, but left out the important comment from Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims.

First, the HuffPost cut:

Now, from the sanctuary policies roundtable session, a more contextual cut (we start the video at 24:10):

In case you missed it, Sheriff Mims brings up MS-13, a violent El Salvadoran gang and the president responds by calling them, rightfully, animals:

SHERIFF MIMS: Thank you. There could be an MS-13 member I know about — if they don’t reach a certain threshold, I cannot tell ICE about it.

THE PRESIDENT: We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in — and we’re stopping a lot of them — but we’re taking people out of the country. You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t people. These are animals. And we’re taking them out of the country at a level and at a rate that’s never happened before. And because of the weak laws, they come in fast, we get them, we release them, we get them again, we bring them out. It’s crazy.

The president was asked about the “animals” comment in a press availability just after his meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg Thursday afternoon.

“I’m referring and you know I’m referring to the MS-13 gangs that are coming in,” he told a reporter who asked about the comment. “I was talking about the MS-13. And if you look a little bit further on in the tape you’ll see that. So I’m actually surprised that you’re asking this question ’cause most people got it right.”

The moonbats over at HuffPost concocted a narrative by cherry picking a statement without proper context. Honestly, even if they would have played the whole interchange, their unenlightened readership would have been outraged that he wants to send any illegal aliens out of the country, even the animals in MS-13.

The president does not think all immigrants are animals – lest he be referring to his own mother who was a Scottish legal immigrant. But he, unlike the left, has no respect for the criminal alien members of a violent Central American gang.
