diGenova: IG Report being scrubbed by Rosenstein and his minions

Former U.S. attorney Joe diGenova says on ‘Hannity’ that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is likely removing embarrassing information from the DOJ’s inspector general report.

“What’s happening right now is that the IG report is being scrubbed by Rosenstein and his minions and people at the F.B.I. And they are removing as much embarrassing information about the bureau as possible,” diGenova said.

The report was completed two weeks ago but has not yet been released to Congress or the public. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has held it back just as he has thousands of documents subpoenaed by Congress for oversight purposes.

diGenova said that there may be nefarious intentions behind Rosenstein holding back the report and the documents requested by Congress.

“Believe it or not, the Deputy Attorney General wants to hurt the president,” he exclaimed. “And he wants to prevent the release of truthful information.”

Others in the legal profession are concerned about what might be happening with the Inspector General’s report.

“If Joe [diGenova] is correct, this is an outrage and it is a neutering of a very highly respected inspector general who was appointed by George W. Bush and by Barack Obama,” Judge Andrew Napolitano said on Fox & Friends Thursday. “If [Inspector General Horowitz] gives a different version under oath than he gave in writing — then the scrubbing is going to become the issue. Wait a minute, you found this about Jim Comey. You’re telling us about it now, but didn’t put it in the report? Was it in the report and did you take it out? And if you took it out did somebody tell you to take it out?”

Rosenstein’s behavior continues a streak of bad actions by career officials at the FBI.

Fired FBI Director James Comey illegally leaked FBI memos through a friend to the press and Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe has been criminally referred to the Department of Justice for his conduct during the campaign. FBI lawyer Lisa Page resigned in May over text messages with Peter Strzok.
