RGV Border Patrol Arrests 68 Migrants and Dismantle Four Stash House Operations

EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents disrupt four stash houses and arrest 68 migrants in the Rio Grande Valley.

Monday morning, Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station (RGC) agents, in coordination with Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Starr County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) responded to a residence in Roma, Texas, after receiving information it was being used to harbor migrants. Law enforcement officials discovered six males and three females illegally present in the United States. The citizens of Mexico and Guatemala were kept in poor living conditions. No caretaker was identified.

Monday evening, Weslaco Border Patrol Station (WSL) agents received a call from a concerned citizen, indicating over 40 individuals being harbored in an Edinburg, Texas, residence. As agents and Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office deputies approached the trailer home, several subjects began to exit through windows. A total of 46 migrants, illegally present in the United States, were taken into Border Patrol custody. No caretaker was identified.

Yesterday afternoon, RGC agents found five migrants harbored in a Roma, Texas, residence. Agents, DPS troopers, and SCSO deputies, approached the assumed vacant apartment and heard shuffling inside. The property owner was contacted and allowed law enforcement officials to enter and search the property. Several single adult male migrants were found in the bedroom. The migrants are citizens of Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras. No caretaker was identified.

Last night, WSL agents and the Weslaco Police Department arrived at a Weslaco, Texas, residence suspected of harboring migrants. Upon entry, law enforcement officials located eight adult migrants. No caretaker was identified and all subjects were taken into Border Patrol custody.

Border Patrol processed all subjects accordingly.
